HORSENECK: Metal Injection Debuts “Matt Lauer’s Secret Button” Video

Note guitarist Anthony Paganelli of the clip, “The ‘Matt Lauer’s Secret Button’ video was filmed and edited by Carlos Almanza. The song was written pretty fast. We wrote the riff and outline for the songs in a couple hours. [Drummer] Jess [Gowrie] had an idea for lyrics and vocals so she wrote the lyrics to this song in basically one night. We all definitely feel like this is one of our harder headbangers. Lyrically, it’s about someone who leaves a path of careless destruction and pays for it in the end. Then there is the realization that you don’t always get a second chance, then the bad person is atoning for their sins in the end… someone who’s made some terrible life choices and has reached the end of their life and looks back in regret. The name of the song was something that we saw on the news, obviously.

ERRANT: Heavy Blog Is Heavy Streams “The Amorphic Burden”

Writes Heavy Blog Is Heavy of the latest track, ” ‘The Amorphic Burden’ does a fantastic job of introducing us to this EP as it channels many of the themes which are then explored over the next three tracks. The dark, brooding, and slow-tempered opening channels some grunge vibes, especially before the guitars and the vocals arrive. When they do, the blackened timbre’s of Amitay’s vocals operate as a kind of goad, egging the rest of the instrumentation on into a fervor. The guitars stay contemplative though, never bursting into full black metal mode but flirting with a more shoegaze-y, introspective kind of tone, at least for the beginning of the track. Closer to the track’s middle, post-rock/blackgaze tremolo picking, heavy on the delay, coincide with the drums picking up pace into blastbeats, crossing over that black metal threshold almost fully…”
