NEW ‘OXYTOXIC’ MUSIC VIDEO BY RACKETT
“I’m excited (and relieved) to emerge from the editing desk to present you with my new ‘Oxytoxic’ music video. I made this myself, featuring a cast of queens I’ve met and shared stages with throughout Australia. Filmed in Melbourne at Pride of Our Footscray, on the last day of my ‘Oxytoxic’ tour I was so inspired by the creativity and talent existing within the LGBTQIA performance space I had to make a video with them. Produced, directed and edited by me with the help of some friends supplying a green screen and camera. My outfit is a g-string from Kmart, gloves my friend made me and a bikini top I salvaged from my sister’s bin. DIY aside, this video is a celebration and I’m very proud to have had the chance to make it.”

Working Men’s Club Share New Track “A.A.A.A.”
A rumble on the horizon. Gritted teeth, nuclear fizz and fissured rock. A dab of pill dust from a linty pocket before it hits: the atom split, pool table overturned, pint glass smashed — valley fever breaking with the clouds as the inertia of small town life is well and truly disrupted. Here to bust out of Doledrum, clad in a t-shirt that screams SOCIALISM and armed with drum machine, synth, pedal and icy stare are Working Men’s Club, and their self-titled debut album.

Indian-American multi-instrumentalist Nikhil Rao started experimenting with his pop/rock mutations in 2012 on his Tascam 8-track. Influenced by artists like R. Stevie Moore, Prince, Talking Heads, and Ariel Pink, he gravitated towards pushing songwriting and arrangements to their outer limits. His murky experimental pop/new-wave tracks continued to evolve as a solo-artist in Oakland, CA and Los Angeles, while attending college in Silicon Valley for Sound Design and Scoring for Film & Video Games.

Parisian trio Oracle Sisters return today (March 11th) with new single ‘Asc. Scorpio’, a swaying astral pop stomp of surrealist vignettes. Their first new music of 2020, ‘Asc. Scorpio’ is a taste of their long-awaited debut EP due for release later this Spring.
The idea of the song was born when Lewis (lead guitarist) was stung by a scorpion in Jamaica. The bite travelled back to Paris, along with the scorpion which he caught and smuggled through customs.
Vlad Holiday shares new single “Phonograph” via Brightest Young Things
Vlad Holiday shares the second single “Phonograph”, from his upcoming debut EP Fall Apart With Me.
“Phonograph is about giving everything you have to a love that you know can’t last, which to me is everything in life that I love. It romanticizes the past but is very aware of it. I wanted the production to reflect that. The song revolves around an extremely dark guitar tone, sprinkled horn stabs, and a Phil Spector-esque percussion loop, recorded on tape and slowed down. I imagined the groove to feel very laid back but also quite uplifting in moments.”

Today, American Songwriter premiered the first single, “Way Past Midnight,” and its accompanying animated music video, created by multi-faceted artist, director, and cinematographer Jefferson Elliott.
