EDITORS Share Video For “Upside Down”

Directed by Rahi Rezvani, the striking video plays with shadows and light, enclosing the band in a room that beguiles and denies as they are illuminated one second and cast in darkness the next. The result is an uncanny sense of mental claustrophobia and that reflects the uncertainty of the track’s lyrics.

For Skope: Skytech & Robbie Mendez’s big-room-influenced “Overload”

Skytech teams up with fellow CYB3RPVNK artist Robbie Mendez on their new track “Overload,” a dancefloor-ready gem to warm up the winter season. Delivering electro-infused synths with driving basslines with a progressive build-up, “Overload” is a prime example of Skytech and Mendez’s signature sounds. The two artists demonstrate their energetic and dynamic production skills in perfect harmony, making us more than a little excited for any future collaborations on R3HAB’s imprint. Mendez made his debut on CYB3RPVNK last year with “Happening,” while Skytech recently released his edit of FIVE and Last 60″‘s “Chaos.”

Contemporary jazz guitarist Chris Standring finds optimism meditating on “Real Life”

Riding the momentum of being named 2019’s Artist of the Year, contemporary jazz guitarist Chris Standring’s first single from his forthcoming 13th solo album, “Real Life,” was the most added track in its debut week at radio. The curiously titled “Is There A Doctor In The House?,” which is illumined by a celestial gospel vocal sample and Standring’s joyous electric guitar parlance and rousing keyboard blasts, is one of nine new tunes written by the artist, who produced and arranged the eleven-song set dropping March 20 on the Ultimate Vibe Recordings imprint.

SOLOTHUS: Finnish Death/Doom Metal Act To Release Realm Of Ash & Blood Via 20 Buck Spin In March

Making its debut on 20 Buck Spin as a band ideally suited for the label, SOLOTHUS’ oppressively heavy mid-paced slaughter maintains a sense of unstoppable momentum even when slowing into the glacial. Yet the land of a thousand lakes has also infused SOLOTHUS with an ear for eerie melodic sorcery and tastefully ripping guitar solos to compliment the riff after riff of hammering granite.

Skope single submission: IQ, “Faded”

Los Angeles emcee/producer IQ presents his new self-produced single “Faded”, hot on the heels of previous singles “Magic Tricks” (Spotify) and “Everywhere I Go” (Spotify). IQ’s last full-length release was IQ Test (Bandcamp). “This one actually was written over the course of a few weeks,” IQ says about his new single. “I added new rhymes as I thought of them, and adjusted the lines to make sure I’m not just rhyming, but actually saying what I want to say. But for the hook I just got faded and freestyled off the top.”

PULCHRA MORTE: Death/Doom Practitioners Unveil New Single Via Decibel Magazine

Issues the band, “While [guitarist] Jeffrey Breden remains the primary songwriter, this album is our first written with [guitarist/producer/engineer] Jarrett Pritchard as a collaborator from the impetus. His participation unites the two guitarists and punctuates the band’s overall heaviness. Being able to have ‘dueling leads’ and additional complementary melody lines allowed us to push further into the realm of the possible. The addition of [Wolvhammer guitarist] John Porada’s expertise on bass brought the sound we were looking for and helped ground the tracks in lock-step with the drums, while adding the unique sound and range of [Skeletonwitch/Wolvhammer vocalist] Adam Clemans’ voice really elevated this work. We are extremely proud to have them join the brotherhood.

Track Premiere: Pulchra Morte – “Knife of the Will”
