After a year that included headlining their own travelling festival all over Ireland, playing a series of sold out holiday concerts at various venues in their hometown, slipping in a quick SRO engagement at the Mercury Lounge in New York City and releasing their first live album, The Coronas this week have rolled out a new single called “Haunted” as a prelude to their first album in three years. The single is now available via digital outlets worldwide through the band’s SoFarSoGood Records imprint distributed by Blix Street Records.
Speaking about the EP, Donovan reveals, “This EP is a collection of songs that are very personal to me. One thing I pride myself on in my songwriting is the honesty in the lyrics. A few of the songs have been hard for me to release, like “Pieces” and “Father’s Son,” as they’re topics that I’ve always found hard to talk about like mental health and growing up without a dad in my life.”
Peel Dream Magazine is the musical vehicle for NYC’s Joe Stevens, who launched the band in 2018 with the critically acclaimed album Modern Meta Physic. With it Stevens created a mysterious, liminal tribute to the hazy end of ‘90s dream-pop – a masterful mix of first-class songwriting precision and train-window sonic impressionism. Stevens played all the parts on Modern Meta Physic himself, blending live and sampled sounds into uniquely identifiable and abstractly psychedelic soundscapes. The album struck a perfect balance between DIY bedroom pop auteurism and studio wizardry and duly found its place on numerous “Best of 2018” lists.

Futurebirds share new video via Rolling Stone, present tour with Teton Gravity Research
Athens, GA psychedelic country mainstays Futurebirds are excited to share the new video for “Waiting On A Call,” a highlight from their recent LP Teamwork. The video, which stars Ozark’s Marc Menchaca, debuted via Rolling Stone Country, who said that “Onstage and in the studio, the tone shifts wildly within the ‘Birds— from sheer sorrow to manic happiness, upbeat power ballads to tear-in-your-beer heartbreakers. The selections are undeniably catchy and poignant, each varying greatly from one tune to the next, something immediately comparable to the melodic swagger and genius of the Band some 50 years earlier… One of the most fascinating and captivating rock acts touring today.”
KINLEY – ‘Washington’
“I recorded “Washington” with Colin Buchanan, who worked with me to create more of an upbeat feel than a previous version of the track. Aaron Comeau added guitar and my father played drums and snare drum to capture the song’s marching feel.”
On the track, Brandon floats over the laid-back, mellow production while explaining to listeners the importance of leveling up and putting the proper work and effort into your dreams. Brandon on the song’s meaning: “It’s a song about stepping up to the plate and executing your destiny. Fully living out your goals and resolutions. Flexing your muscles and showing the world that you are close to reaching your potential.” Aside from its cool demeanor and heavy bassline, “Flexin” is also a subtle, unashamed dedication to the love of God and love of self.

Cayley Thomas is a singer, guitarist and songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta whose natural affinity for constructing catchy melodies reveals her striking vocal range and character. Julia Bardo today announced her debut EP Phase will be released on March 6th, 2020 via Wichita Recordings, and shared an early preview of the collection via the charming, retro video for “I Wanna Feel Love.” Of the Will Fry-directed clip, which premiered earlier today via The FADER (“heavenly”), Bardo explains: “I have a strange relationship with time; I tend to think too much about the future and not enough about the present, about living in the moment. In the video, I impersonate an older version of myself — a more mature woman, almost like a retired film star from the ’60s, who’s been waiting her whole life for something to happen, for love to come. The video is about this never-ending wait — waiting for something to end, waiting for something to start, waiting for someone to come home, for a phone call, for someone who’s going to love me.”
