Children’s music singer-songwriter Gina Lam, known for her stage name and character Ginalina, announced today that she just released her new video “Shine Like the Northern Lights”. This song is from Ginalina’s newly launched fifth album titled “Small But Mighty”.

“Shine Like the Northern Lights was inspired by the beauty in the young people in my life, especially my two daughters. It was also inspired by the incomparable beauty of the northern lights; nothing could be more worthy of admiration, except for the people who live under them,” said Ginalina. “This song was recorded the day after I played a music festival in Yellowknife, and the music video was filmed in a tiny corner of a Whitehorse dance studio, by a window as the sun was quickly setting, with 23 children who had never met me, nor heard of me before.”
Ginalina was recently nominated for a 2020 Canadian Folk Music award in the category of Children’s Album of the Year for her Juno-nominated album “It Takes a Village”. She was nominated for Canadian Folk Music awards in 2017 and 2015 for Children’s Album of the Year as well.
