RORIE Unveils Feisty New Single + Interview for “Up In Smoke”, featuring Charlotte Martin
Rorie is a singer-songwriter, crafting music that tells stories of heartache and hope. With poetic lyrics and emotive vocals, Rorie’s songs are ethereal, yet grounded in reality. She transports listeners to other worlds while tugging at the heartstrings of what it means to be human. Rorie began writing songs at an early age, but it was a while before she found the confidence to share those songs outside the walls of her bedroom. She found herself greatly inspired while working for an anti-human trafficking organization in NYC. She wrote a song influenced by her time there and played it at a benefit concert in the city. After being encouraged to share the song on a larger scale, she launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to record the song and film a powerful music video that raises awareness about this important issue.

Rina Sawayama releases new single ‘STFU’ and announces signing to Dirty Hit
The new single sees Rina take inspiration from the nu-metal scene that flooded the 00s, mixed with her unique twist on pop. Produced by friend and long-term collaborator Clarence Clarity, ‘STFU!’ is packed with distorted guitars and thrashing drums juxtaposed with Rina’s haunting vocals which are infused with an important message; Rina’s rage against microaggressions. As a Japanese woman growing up in the Western world the concept behind ‘STFU!’ was born out of Rina’s experiences, her inner angst about microinsults and all too familiar stereotypes.

Jerry Leger has a thing for ghosts. The Toronto singer/songwriter confirmed it a couple of years ago when he went on a personal journey to explore many of Ontario’s largely unknown ghost towns, having been inspired by the writings of historian Ron Brown. Leger has immortalized one of those towns, Burchell Lake, on his new album Time Out For Tomorrow, containing 10 portraits of the impermanence of life, love, or simply catching a glimpse of a shooting star.
Hot on the heels of a sold out, six-date North American tour, Blossoms return today with a new single, “The Keeper,” which received its first play as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in The World on BBC Radio 1. The song is taken from the band’s highly anticipated third studio full-length, Foolish Loving Spaces.
Foolish Loving Spaces was produced by the band’s consistent and talented team of James Skelly and Rich Turvey at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool. Tom Ogden’s increasingly direct lyrical range turns album three into a romantic page-turner of light and shade, while its divergent moods are supplied by Myles Kellock’s piano and keyboard lines, careering from urgent stabs of TV game show-theme synth to more classic, rolling notes. The record’s multi-instrumental color and widescreen sound is provided by pedal steel / lead guitarist Josh Dewhurst, while Joe Donovan on drums and Charlie Salt on bass bring fluidly danceable grooves throughout, complemented on occasion by a wall of gospel harmony.
Today, Sir Woman releases her latest single “Speak” from her forthcoming record Party City. The Austin Chronicle said “Whereas the singer’s work co-fronting Wild Child explodes bittersweet pop, Sir Woman digs into more soulful grooves behind the songwriter’s intoxicating vocals,” going on to say, “‘Speak’ drops mellow and dreamy, with an atmospheric backing that reflects the contemplative feeling in the song’s creation.”
