Pod Blotz shares ‘Transforming DNA’ video from new LP out January 11 on Dais Records

Pod Blotz began in 2002 and has released over 25 cassette and vinyl releases via labels such as L.I.E.S., Difficult Interactions, Clan Destine, Chocolate Monk, and Dungeon Taxis. Over the years the project has included a number of guest members andperformance artists, but has solely remained the brainchild of Suzy Poling.

Flaunting Southern flare and bawdy hip-hop heroism alongside the unmistakable catchphrase “I’ve got the power” from the Snap! classic “Power,” the track fuses a bold groove with her confident and charismatic lyrics. It climaxes on an undeniable and unbreakable chant. Meanwhile, Big Freedia slays from the moment the music video begins as she enters the frame through a pair of lips. The visual intercuts scenes of her crushing fruit and dancing with friends before leading a group of choir singers under a VHS overlay.

The band recently wrapped a tour with kindred spirits CAAMP, which culminated in two sold-out nights at Thalia Hall in Chicago, IL. To celebrate Teamwork’s release, the band will make the trek back up to New York City for a night at Bowery Ballroom on release day, January 15.

Swedish punks Movin In Stereo join Wiretap Records; Stream/Download their “”New Blood” EP

Gothenburg, Sweden’s punk/rock quintet Movin In Stereo was formed by New Zealand vocalist Scott James and guitarist John Wennergren, with drummer Ola Stridh joining the band soon after. They released their debut EP ‘My Dear Effigy’ in 2018 to much positive feedback and also gained the band support for ex-Turbonegro frontman Hank von Hell on his ‘Pretty Decent Tour’. The band is now also comprised of guitarist Elias Hellström and Scotland-born bassist Rosie McClune.

“I want to dedicate our win to my friend, the late, great Dean Schachtel. Without him, I never would have been a part of the Dio family,” says Phil Buckman. “We had a great time, surrounded by a bunch of great people, for an amazing cause.” The Dean Schachtel Award, named for the late Dio Cancer Fund board member, has been awarded each year to the individual bowler with the highest overall score. This year, it went to Chris Dritz of Capital Mortgage Services with an overall score of 216, which he assured Jason Belmonte is at the low end for him!
