Born in Kedah, Malaysia and raised primarily in Kuala Lumpur, Yuna now splits her time between Malaysia and Los Angeles (where she recorded Rouge). “I’m a Muslim singer-songwriter, but I never saw myself as that,” she explains. “That label became more obvious to me as I moved to LA…it was really cool that everyone I met supported the fact that I do my own thing and don’t sacrifice my identity for the music.”

MAYVE Announces Upcoming Single “Slide,” Out July 26th
Long Island-based indie pop/rock band MAYVE have announced the upcoming release of their new single, “Slide,” available on all digital music platforms July 26th. Part of a three single series, “Slide” is a follow up to their early 2019 single “Head High,” which received recognition from numerous media outlets, including Alternative Press. After receiving sync placements on various MTV shows, such as The Real World, MAYVE found themselves transitioning and evolving into a groovy, sugary, mainstream indie-esque pop sound. Although “Slide” leans heavier on the electronic spectrum, the band upholds their indie and alternative roots throughout the track’s production. About “Slide”, MAYVE states:

Bassnectar announces Deja Voom 2020 returning to Mexico
Bassnectar, in conjunction with CID Presents, have announced the return of his Deja Voom all-inclusive vacation festival taking place at a new location in 2020, the Grand Oasis in Cancún from March 25th to the 28th. The four-day event takes on the beaches of Cancún and will be packed with music, pool parties, beach activities, off-site adventures, daily yoga and meditation sessions, tequila tastings and more. Both tracks, which premiered this morning on DIY, showcase raw and melodic bodies of work. On “Is This How You Find Love” Steele poetically questions a disconcerting relationship. While on the more up-tempo track, “If You’re Passing Through” he sings about trying to move on from a loved one, “The evening lasts for weeks and seasons too, and someone new is on your mind. NY-based artist Tco Riaz fuses together the sounds of Reggae and Hip-Hop in his new summer single “Killas”, out now. The Hunna announce US tour w/ Barns Courtney
The Hunna began to take shape when Ryan (Vocals/Guitar), Dan (Lead Guitar) and Junate (Bass) met in college. After a couple of line-up changes, Jack arrived on drums and everything fell into place. A sucker for a good chorus, the boys like to work from the outside in when it comes to writing. “There are so many different processes to what we do, but often we’ll start with a chorus, and then we’ll funnel in from there,” the band have noted about their writing and recording process.
