Khushi, born and raised in London and also a member of the rising band Strong Asian Mothers, contributed production to Blake’s Assume Form and Blake, in turn, mixed much of Khushi’s album.

LA-based Billboard-charting dance/pop artist Ricky Rebel releases his new Magic Carpet Remix Album. Rebel also releases his new “Magic Carpet” music video, which premiered on Celebmix.

Celebmix describes the track as an “energetic pop anthem…[that] uses the trope of ‘magic’ to depict the effect of love.” It goes on to say that video’s “well-excuted concept…succeeds in hooking the viewer till the end.”

Sound Thinking NYC to Hold First Annual Career and College Expo as Part of New York City’s Official New York Music Month

The Creative Arts Team at the City University of New York, the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, and New York is Music are delighted to announce the first annual Sound Thinking NYC (STNYC) Career and College Exposition. The event is an opportunity for students to explore college and career paths in the music industry. It will take place on Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Viacom (1515 Broadway at 44th Street).

The STNYC Expo provides a platform for middle and high school students and their families to learn directly from educators, artists and music professionals about building careers in the music industry. The expo will feature demonstrations and interactive labs on topics that range from music production to sound recording. Not only can students talk directly to experts in the field, they can also step up to an open mic to put their performance skills to the test or lay down a recording in the Sound Thinking Listening Booth.

It’s really easy to think that even the big music star streaming earners aren’t making that much, but they’re making more than you might think. That said, everything now is on a different scale than in the music business of yesterday.
For one thing, a million streams or views no longer means much. You need 10 million or so before it gets anyone’s attention, and a minor hit is now around 50 million. A hit is in the hundreds of millions, and a major global hit is over a billion. With that in mind, here are the 5 biggest streaming earners this year so far, according to Billboard.
