The track comes on the heels of the news that the band will be releasing a new album this year, their first since 2016’s break out METAL RESISTANCE. The single is the first piece of music since METAL RESISTANCE EPISODE VII, the episode that sparked a new era of BABYMETAL where the FOX GOD sent the band on a darker path, which manifests in the darker tone of the new material as heard on “Elevator Girl.”

M w S are a songwriting duo from a small town in Italy, that have made London their home for creating their distinctive, soulful-pop sound.
Although the pair recount working with other talented musicians and producers, the scene is unquestionably stronger on the British Isles so a move was always on the cards. However, the whole plan was nearly derailed early on as the pair booked tickets into the UK on the very day we decided to leave the European Union. It’s a wound reopened recently with the uncertainty in the air around the subject and growing worry about the position of touring musicians in the UK.

Founded by guitarist and bandleader Monda, Thank You Scientist self-released the Perils of Time Travel EP in 2011, before signing with Claudio Sanchez’s (of Coheed and Cambria) label Evil Ink Records. Their 2012 full length debut, Maps of Non-Existent Places made it onto the Billboard Hard Rock and Heatseekers charts, and was eventually named “Album of the Week” by Revolver Magazine in 2014. In their own words, “‘I Want You’ initially came from the same sessions as “Wanta Be”. The chords went down pretty quickly but we had to be patient with the vocal which felt like a struggle, to begin with. It wasn’t until we were going through ideas on a surf trip in France that the concept for the song really came through. We got the main idea down on a voice memo and when we arrived home the rest of the song just fell into place.
