“On April 17th I released Sometimes the Dark Outweighs the Darkness. I would say it’s dark, ambient folk with western overtones. I guess it might also be beneficial to know I started working on this while recovering from a freak medical condition that almost killed me. Kind of sucked. The lyrics might make more sense.”

Based on the true story of Carnage’s family, the official ‘Letting People Go’ music video depicts Carnage’s grandmother’s journey as an illegal immigrant into the United States. Carnage produced the video to raise awareness and provoke social change around current immigration policies, plus is donating a portion of the proceeds from the single to the immigration non-profit RAICES – providing legal aid at the US / Mexican border.

When I wrote the song, I was at Cory’s house going through beats and as the actual beat was just playing as background music, he’s showing me a girl he was potentially dating and I told him ‘damn bro, she ready!’ We both laughed and was like ‘yo, that’s a song idea’. Not even five minutes later, hook was recorded and verses were being pinned.” Chel is expected to release an EP by the end of the year.
