Mabel announces debut album, ‘High Expectations’ drops July 12

Mabel has today announced details of her much-anticipated debut album, ‘High Expectations’, which will be released on Capitol Records on July 12th. This continues the phenomenal success of new single ‘Don’t Call Me Up’, which is quickly climbing the US Hot 100 and has gone top 10 on Spotify’s global charts (where Mabel is the highest-charting British female).

Still just 23 years old, ‘High Expectations’ is that rare record which feels both like a graduation and, also, just the beginning. The twice-Brit-nominated singer and songwriter has already sold over 3 million singles in the UK (two platinum, three gold, and two silver), surpassed 1 billion streams, and sold out the likes of Brixton Academy. A phenominal success in the UK, “Don’t Call Me Up” charted at number 3, spent 8 weeks in the top 10, and is already the 7th biggest-selling single of 2019: Mabel will next be seen as a guest on The Graham Norton show tomorrow, and confirmed that she will tour with Khalid later this year.

WIVES Share New Single “Workin'” (City Slang)

Following the recent news of their signing to City Slang, Queens, NY-based WIVES return today with a second teaser from their soon-to-be announced debut album, due later this year. WIVES’—guitarist/vocalist Jay Beach, guitarist Andrew Bailey (DIIV), bassist Alex Crawford, and drummer Adam Sachs—latest single “Workin’” is a propulsive, slow-burning ripper. Of the song, Beach says: “’Workin” was a poem written while having a nervous breakdown in a 3rd floor walk up in Brooklyn, NY. My inward turmoil became the outward predicament of all of us workin’ stiffs. The ground actually did turn over and the floorboards were shifted. It must have been a manifestation of something going on inside my brain, and all the visions were coming at me in stop motion waves.”
