NEEDSHES, the independent alternative rock band from Tashkent, Uzbekistan are proud to announce their forthcoming album, Truth Power, due out May 3rd via AWAL. Off the 10-track album comes a brand new single called,”U Babe” which perfectly encapsulates the band’s signature alt/rock sound by infusing R&B, soul, funk and hip-hop. Lead vocalist Otabek Salamov (Beck) expands on the importance of the song and how meaningful it is to his childhood. He states, “It is kind of the tribute to James Brown, Lauryn Hill, Tupac, Prodigy, Sepultura, and Beastie Boys. I just wanted to make something you can touch and feel nostalgia.” He continues by touching on the album theme by stating, “Truth Poweris a call for awareness about the obvious truths, which are often ignored.” And in regard to “U Babe” the song addresses the truth as the character is eager for knowledge.” The album intertwines this idea with hidden metaphors, life stories, and easy-to-follow imagery underling the collection and offers an array of exotic sounds with the addition of instruments such as doira and persian tar.

Lil Durk Ain’t Trying to Be Your Friend or Your Man or Your Husband in His Latest Video

Specializing in soaring melodies and grounded street stories, Lil Durk pioneered the sound of new Chicago. Taking a break from his own domestic bliss to comment on a friend’s relationship woes, Lil Durk shares “No Label,” his latest video. Released in late-January, “No Label” is a minor-key hookfest, packed with withering insults aimed towards a woman who wants more than Durk’s friend can give: “You Instagram famous, but you not a star.” The video, directed by Rock Davis, investigates a crumbling relationship, as the central couple squabbles in a Hollywood mansion. With some help from his OTF brethren King Von, OTF Ikey, and Booka600, Lil Durk acts as the devil on his friend’s shoulder, prying him away from his temporary relationship with the promise of more models. With over 2.5 million plays on Spotify and over 5 million YouTube views on its official audio, “No Label” expands upon the sonic palette Durk developed for Signed To The Streets 3, his November 2018 album, and starts to lay the groundwork for Love Songs to the Streets 2, a new mixtape coming this Spring.
