Shy Girls announces that his sophomore album, Bird On The Wing, is set to come out Spring 2019 via Keep Cool Projects/RCA Records. In addition to unveiling the title today, he also released his newest single, “This Is Your World” and announced his upcoming North American headlining tour. Tickets for the coast to coast tour will be on sale this Friday, January 18th.

FRI 10AM: Protest at Google HQ in NYC Demands Internet Giant Scrap Censorship Effort in China: Project Dragonfly

On Friday, January 18th, a coalition of Chinese, Tibetan, Uyghur, and human rights groups will protest outside Google offices and headquarters in San Francisco and New York City demanding that the internet giant scrap a controversial censorship collaboration with the government of China: “Project Dragonfly.” The protests in the US are part of a larger global effort calling on Google to protect free speech and human rights on Internet Freedom Day – commemorated on January 18th.

Activists are planning to gather outside Google HQs with signs highlighting the risks Dragonfly poses to freedom of speech and internet security and calling on the tech company to end the project. They will also hand out leaflets to Google employees and the public. The organizers have stated that this will be the first of a series of protests that will continue until Google executives confirm that Project Dragonfly has been canceled.
