This isn’t your “Get Down On It” or “Shake Your Groove Thing”-type song but is centered around a first dance of sorts. Solo 7 is one man on a mission to tackle the theme of mustering up enough courage to ask that girl/first crush for a dance. Solo 7 is lovin’ life and hopes to embrace that special someone with the listener stepping & tapping into this world of pure innocence.
“Just Wanna Dance” has that candy-coated, sugar and spice and everything nice-kinda feel with Solo 7 delivering sweet notes. The vocals by Solo 7 also contained hints of R&B where I even picked up on a fairly heavy influence to that of Bruno Mars. The Solo 7 sound is Pop-friendly with catchy hooks & rhythms that pack a flavorful punch. The single exhibits a carefree attitude that is infectious and embodies that take a chance-like atmosphere.
So, throw caution to the wind and allow yourself to escape and let go for a few minutes. Just as KC and the Sunshine Band said: Put on your “Boogie Shoes” to “Get Town Tonight” and just “Shake, Shake, Shake”! “That’s the Way I Like It” and I think you’ll like Solo 7 too if you just give it a shot; you know you “Just Wanna Dance”!
