Alt Rock Band Knightlife Releases New LP “Forever Fight”

About the album, the band states: Knightlife would like to make a point of two listening guides on this album. First, there are many illusions made to night and night time activities. In many ways that manifests in the band’s culture. But, it’d be a mistake to not see the tongue and cheekiness of the band being named “‘knight’life” and the obsession with night. In addition the group has become avid fans of albums, specifically from classic rock. There are illusions to such greats as Fleetwood Mac, Joe Walsh, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, The Cars, and more. A lot of the sounds are also influenced by our favorite alternative artists (Weezer, RHCP, Oasis) and popular culture art forms (video games, TV). We strove to create something that people could find depth within and subsequently navigate that depth on their own terms.

This song is full circle moment for Matt Ox and Chief Keef, representing an endorsement, or passing of the torch, moment. Keef himself started rapping before he was in his teens. In 2017 Matt was invited to open for Chief Keef in LA at the tender age of twelve – though fair to say for Matt Ox’s twelve was a less than tender age, being very much a streetsmart kid from Philly.

Relive Your Adolescence In “Jungle” – Hotel Mira

“Halfway through writing “Jungle,” I realized something about adolescence. At that age most of us don’t possess the kind of emotional maturity and ability to communicate in an intimate relationship, and yet every overactive hormone in our bodies is making us fall in love at the drop of a hat. It’s a stage of life where you are at complete mercy of these feelings and emotions that are brand new. It’s a game you can’t win – try as you might.”
