Paper Fairy shares slinky new rocker “Haunted” | Debut LP out 10/26

The track premiered via New Noise Magazine where Paper Fairy (real name Chris Gaskell) shared, “This song is a pull-string doll that keeps stuttering even when the string is up. You hear it in the attic when you’re sleeping, it diverts from the usual catchphrases, but when you look it in the eye it is silent. After years of silence you hear it in your head and suddenly reality bends on itself. Think Woody from Toy Story meets Chucky from Child’s Play. When recording this song I told the musicians the feel was D’Angelo meets Grizzly Bear backbeat.”

Dead Naked Hippies unveil video for ‘Rare’ | UK Tour

With an angular opening riff that batters its way into your head and stays rattling around in there all day, Rare is the ferocious new offering from Leeds art-rock trio Dead Naked Hippies, joined now by an energetic, vividly stylish music video.

Don’t be fooled by the initial ferocity, Rare serves to empower others and front woman Lucy Jowett is not holding back:

“It is a song about self love. I think we’re quick to judge the term & deem it laughable or irrelevant in fear of being arrogant, or weird. But if you take a hard look at the society we live in, it’s clear to see why so many people struggle to feel content in their own minds and their own bodies. I’ve always struggled with myself and it sickens me to think that so many other people feel the same. It needs to change.”
