The Paper Kites announce On the Corner Where You Live (out September 21 via Nettwerk Records), the Australian band’s melancholic, mid-tempo companion to the recently released album, On the Train Ride Home. Give them your tired, your lonely, your lovesick, your unsure, The Paper Kites have a song for each of them on this latest album. On the Corner Where You Live wafts evocatively with noir-ish saxophones, guitars, ambient traffic, even the languid sound of rain. It’s levitating and bittersweet, heavy-hearted stories that are resoundingly universal.
Frontman Sam Bentley spoke of the moment the album’s concept clicked together. “It’s a collection of stories about these characters all living in an apartment building; I wanted to capture moments, feelings, it’s about people and their stories.”

She’s got that black girl magic
A whole year after Miss Eaves’ viral video for “Thunder Thighs,” was lauded by Billboard as one of the top 25 feminist anthems of all time, called “true, organic body positivity without pandering” by Jezebel, and called a “summer anthem that celebrates every woman” by NPR it’s still being written about and shared … but guess what, she’s got a lot more to offer.
On August 3rd Miss Eaves will be releasing the follow-up to last year’s super successful Feminasty in the form of a skillfully high-energy EP titled ME AF which covers themes like living a happy single life and embracing your pubic hair, as highlighted in the video for the first single off the new EP, “Bush For the Push.” The video for the second single, “Kiss Kiss I’m Fabulous,” (which you can check out upon request) celebrates “black girl magic” and is empowering in a way that only 56 of the best Beyonce GIFS, or a slow motion Buffy the Vampire Slayer fight scene could even attempt to get close to.
Hear Miss World’s “Carb Yr Enthusiasm” off her upcoming, debut album
Keeping Up With Miss World is a raw, 13 track power-pop, garage-party movie scene that plays out like a thumb numbing Instagram scroll fest. A teen-dream magazine collage, a multi-colored sonic mood board featuring torn up images of Ariel Pink, Kim Gordon, Clueless OOTDs, Madonna and Kim Kardashian smeared with gluestick goo.
Pompeya Premieres “Hot Summer July” Video via EARMILK
Russian outfit Pompeya has been hard at work on their brand new album Dreamers slated for a summer 2018 release label Mishu. It’s the first album they’ve fully produced themselves. Dreamers shares their story & love for U.S. culture, 80’s music and the dream of spreading their art in the west to the masses. Through their album, rather than keeping the production & lyrics clean-cut and “perfect,” they embrace their own process through raw story telling, funky drum and bass grooves and catchy “stuck in your head” melodies that continue their trend of listeners constantly dancing. Expect a good time.
LUCAS (Cage The Elephant, Jimmy Page, Hammock)
Produced by Cage the Elephant’s Lincoln Parish, the record delivers high energy rock while carrying a strong britpop influence. This is credited to frontman Johnny Lucas, a Manchester native that heavily toured around the UK as a one-man show replete with beatbox and looping magic. It was there that Johnny caught the attention of Jimmy Page who told him “I loved what you did with the loop pedal. There was so much going on it was like a 5-D experience.”

ELM: Italian Noise Rock Unit Unveils “Swampland” Video
Issues the band of the clip, “‘Swampland’ is about the swamps that surround the fake serenity of the suburbs, like the ones in the American Bible Belt and in Northern Italy. We are not judging, we just acknowledge what is happening: ‘Swampland’s all I know, Swampland’s all I own.'”
