After two and a half months performing solo shows at music clubs, dive bars, honky tonks, and cafes across the entirety of the United States, Kaplow came to realize it was the actually the little things in life at home that he was missing — like the feeling of turning a doorknob. Sole surviving Heartbreakers member Walter Lure announces new album with The Waldos
Just before the Sex Pistols shook Britain’s core, U.S. punk band THE HEARTBREAKERS had emerged to spearhead the first wave of punk rock. After the New York Dolls disbanded, Johnny Thunders brought his devil-may-care rock star attitude to form a new band with co-frontman WALTER LURE. Today Lure is the last man standing from The Heartbreakers and “pretty much the icon of East Village junkie cool”, according to The Observer. Walter Lure survived not only the NYC punk scene, but also the Anarchy Tour with the Sex Pistols and being in The Heartbreakers, which Louder Than War says is “possibly the most self-destructive, contrary band of them all”.
The successor to The Heartbreakers is WALTER LURE & THE WALDOS. Today I am excited to present you the band’s first album in 24 years ‘Wacka Lacka Boom Bop A Loom Bam Boo’, preceded by the first single ‘Crazy Kids’. The accompanying video includes scenes from the forthcoming full-length film ‘Thunders: Room 37’, which dramatizes the final days of Johnny Thunders.
The rare history of harmonious pop music imbued in Vinyl Williams’ upcoming Opal LP is finally coming to the conscious surface in the warped form of a celestial hyper-coaster, combining sunshine pop, afrobeat, and progressive rock into a dense emanation of sonic optics. The California native has attuned his sound palette to the cosmic quintessence – opalescent tones that harmonize chaos, synchronizing a global family of celestial harmonies into a macrocosmic epicenter. The album is set for a July 20th release on Requiem Pour Un Twister.

Ecstatic Union Premiere Single, “Let It Be Love” via Xune Magazine
Ecstatic Union’s sound is like a liquid sun-soaked harmony layered psychedelic dance party. Started in 2012 as a kind of solo-spiritual-folk-rock recording project by Rex Costello, after assembling a few core members (including Oliver Hart & recording partner Paul Olsen) the band took on various forms over the years and primarily played as an acoustic folk act. In 2015, while living in his home town on Catalina Island, Costello recorded what would become Ecstatic Union’s second full length album (released 2017 on Lolipop Records). Over the next year he assembled the band into a complete electrifying 5-piece psychedelic-rock outfit in support of the release. The core members include Rex Costello and Oliver Hart who bring on collaborators and touring arrangements as needed. The current outfit of the band now resides in Los Angeles, CA where they recently recorded a new album, “Neurons”, with the production and engineering help of Tomas Dolas (Mr. Elevator). The album is set to release on EU’s very own, ‘Channel Records’, on September 1st, 2018.
