AVONLEA DEBUTS “IT SUCKS”

Rising pop singer/songwriter Avonlea has unveiled the first new song – “It Sucks” – off her forthcoming self-penned project “10 2 17” (Art Club/Atlantic). Avonlea’s “10 2 17” project will feature a series of unapologetically candid tracks detailing the different stages of the young starlet’s adolescence and acts as an expression of the emotions brought upon by coming of age. “It Sucks” narrows in on the 14-15 age range and the accompanying video tackles themes of underage drinking and teen romance.

Thrice Announce New Album ‘Palms’ Out September 14

Thrice has announced a September 14th release date for their new album Palms. The album is the first Epitaph release for Thrice, who are widely regarded as one of the most innovative rock bands of their generation.

Co-produced by Thrice and Eric Palmquist and mixed by John Congleton, Palms encompasses everything from viscerally charged post-hardcore to piano-driven balladry. The most sonically expansive album so far in the band’s 20-year-history, Palms follows the critically acclaimed To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere (released via Vagrant Records in 2016).

Today, rising singer-songwriter Sasha Sloan releases the music video for her track “Ready Yet,” which was directed by Chandler Lass. Mary-Elaine Jenkins is excited to announce her debut album Hold Still, due September 28, 2018 via Good Child Music. Alternative pop duo Lightning Echoes is taking listeners on a spherical journey of sound with their newest release, “In Circles” — available now!

Uppers & Downers was recorded at Los Angeles’ historic Valentine Studios, recently renovated and reopened by Rabenreither’s producer friend, Nicolas Jodoin, and where artists including The Beach Boys, Frank Zappa, and Jackson Brown have all made music. It was the first time he’d worked in such a large, professional space, let alone on such hallowed ground, and it compelled Rabenreither to push himself throughout the process, while Jodoin — who had also worked on Gold Star’s 2012 debut — proved indispensable in shaping the overall lush, vintage sound of Uppers & Downers. The album also features Cameron Avery of Tame Impala (piano on “This Is The Year”), and Cole Alexander and Zumi Rosow of Black Lips (on “Chinatown”).
