Chaser (Dying Scene Records) premieres the best new punk song you’ll here this month

Southern California skate-punk act CHASER have premiered a lyric video for a brand new track off their upcoming release on DYING SCENE RECORDS & EFFERVESCENCE RECORDS. “Let It Die” is the first Chaser track to feature dueling lead vocals between singer Mike LeDonne and bassist Jesse Stopnitzky, and man does it work!

Of the song, the band writes: “A few random facts about “Let It Die”: 1) Our album title, “Sound the Sirens” is derived from the chorus. 2) This is the first time CHASER has featured another band member in a shared lead vocal role. 3) While tracking the drums in the studio, we continued to speed up the tempo faster and faster until we felt it reflected our level of aggression and frustration, while maintaining its mid-tempo rocking spirit.”

It’s our greatest gift and our greatest cross to bear. We wanted to capture that delicate legacy in our own way, and this video was our interpretation of life…and its inevitable ending.”

The Sh8pshifter drops driving new single “Runaway” (FFO: Janelle Monae)

The track premiered in an interview piece with Impose Magazine where The Sh8peshifter (Zakiya Harris) shared, “‘Runaway’ began, like most tunes with an infectious beat. I love fusing my rock-inspired rhythms with heavy drums. Once I heard the music, the lyrics just came thru my soul. The song is about movement, fluidity and flexibility. It is a reminder to stay agile and not get stuck. I think sometimes we normalize suffering and don’t realize our own agency in what we have to put up with. There is a time to fight and a time to run away. Running doesn’t have to mean giving up, it can actually be a source of freedom.”
