NEW VIDEO! Kobra & The Lotus “Velvet Roses”
“High impact, pure rock adrenaline!! This vid is a fabulous trip. Free falling through the sky, whipping tight turns on a planet where everything that makes sense to you doesn’t apply and the impossible doesn’t exist. Join this tenacious driver and her motley crew as they take guitar solos literally to “new heights” and drive you through the hard rock, adventure of your life!!! ”
After the release of the intimate surprise dance track “Take Me Back,” as seen on Stereogum & Pitchfork, it marked a creative shift for Deep Cuts into dance-oriented sophistipop. The group paints smooth jazz and dark textural soundscapes over house and salsa inspired rhythms, while Houston native Chase Harris sings tales of romance, tragedy and navigating millennial darkness. On “What Are We Celebrating” they shill a party anti-anthem about the gradual dissolve of a 20 something’s social life. Prominent vocals dissolve into Pat Metheny style guitar and psychedelia.

AURELIA unveils her love affair with destiny in new single ‘AMERICA’
Having amassed a trove of accolades, including Grammy nominations and U.S. Top 10 Billboard releases from her songwriting for other artists, it’s no mystery that her own work is quickly becoming required listening for ‘audiophiles’ and ‘feeling junkies’ alike.
The intersection of Fiona Apple boss lady musicianship and Enya’s celestial plane of sonic magnificence are the closest coordinates for referencing this solo offering from Aurelia. With a sound that is equal parts perennial nostalgia/cosmic effervescence, ‘America’ leaves the listener feeling as though their past and future selves are experiencing the track at the same time.
Russian Baths share arresting new video for “Poolhouse” via Culture Collide
Russian Baths adds, “Poolhouse’ is about an existential crisis. It’s about feeling so overwhelmed that you can’t see the way out. It’s about moments of calm and hope being submerged in waves of pressure. It’s about losing your breath because of fear.”
“‘Online’ comes into play with sauntering swagger, the Oshima Brothers taking more blues-centric melodies into their fold… Musically, the song dances somewhere between influences ranging from John Mayer to This Wild Life, with alternative folk production melding with more of a contemporary rhythmic strut.” – Popmatters
