Music has been out there for centuries and is still serving as a way to reduce stress and brighten people’s mood. We all have a friend, colleague or family member who’s a music enthusiast and for whom, music is a way to escape from the mundane parts of life.
If you happen to know someone who is a music lover then consider giving them one of these gifts to put a smile on their face:
1. Headphones
Almost everyone has a set of headphones, but most people put up with the stock sets that come free with a cellphone. Almost always these headphones are terrible.
A good set of headphones is the perfect gift for someone that enjoys music. They probably aren’t aware how much better their favorite songs sound when played through decent headphones. I remember getting my first set of studio quality headphones and being absolutely amazed at all the subtle new sounds I was hearing. Even when listening to my favorite albums!
These days, even the top noise cancelling and wireless headphones can sound pretty good too. Noise canceling headphones would make the perfect gift for a regular commuter or international traveler.
2. Music Subscription
The older among us (my dad included) might not be sure what a music subscription really is. To clarify, I’m talking about a subscription to a music streaming platform like Spotify, Pandora, or Amazon Music.
These services allow unlimited access to a enormous vaults of high quality music. The music can be accessed on your phone or computer and listened to virtually anywhere. It pretty much means that your favorite music is available whenever and wherever you want it. That’s in itself is a pretty amazing gift and one that I’m sure most people would be happy to receive.
Personally, I adore streaming platforms like this, and while I wish they were a bit more generous to artists with their royalty payments, they do offer exposure like never before.
Just make sure you’ve got the streaming quality set to ‘high’ and your listening through a decent set of headphones or some decent monitor speakers.
3. Turntable
Turntables are devices that produce quality music from a vinyl record. Music lovers totally dig this piece of tech as it gives a warmth of sound that digital music just can’t replicate.
Nowadays, most modern turntables come with a USB port so you can even convert all your favorite vinyl records to digital files. This means taking your vinyl collection “on the go” with you, wherever you may roam.
4. Amazon Alexa/Echo
It’s a virtual assistant manufactured by Amazon that fulfills all the needs of a music lover. With this gadget, one can have total control of music and a whole lot of other things as well. The assistant speaks to you and can listen to your commands like a pro.
The best thing about it is that it is voice controlled. Words like “Alexa” can wake up the assistant and you’re ready to start ordering. The good thing is that it only costs $50.
5. Musical Instrument
Pick something that they really enjoy, such as a guitar, violin or a keyboard. While some of these instruments can be expensive, some can be quite affordable as well.
There are also quirky and fun instruments like the otamatone or stylophone that are really fun to play but remain very simple and accessible for all.
