A multi-talented performer who writes and sings from the core of her very being, Cathy Hutch is a recipient of the 2008 Diane London Award; (Fredericton, NB), received an Oscar for Autism (for her co-written song I’m In Here); she has performed at the ECMA Awards and has been a finalist for the CBC Galaxie of Rising Stars Showcase.

The Material first entered the scene in 2007 after winning a spot on the MTV Dew Circuit Breakout. After releasing four EPs and two LPs, the band toured tirelessly, sharing stages with Blameshift, Every Avenue and Therefore Tomorrow, and playing countless festivals like SXSW, Warped Tour, X-Fest and Summerfest. After the band decided to take a break in 2014, lead vocalist Colleen D’Agostino signed to mau5trap records, where she co-wrote a platinum certified single on the Grammy nominated album by electronic producer deadmau5.
The 2018 Moog Innovation Award will be presented to Bernie Krause this week at Moogfest 2018, the annual music, art and technology festival in Durham, North Carolina. This award recognizes over 50 years of work in the exploration of sound, exemplifying the bold, innovative spirit of Bob Moog. Past recipients include visionary artists like Gary Numan, Devo, Suzanne CIani, Brian Eno, Bernie Worrell, and Thomas Dolby, and synth designers like Herb Deutsch.
The new song jump starts a busy and exciting summer for the Manchester quartet. Stateside, Pale Waves are set to appear at the first two American festivals, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands Festival and join CHVRCHES for a handful of arena shows throughout August. Over the summer they’ll tour Australia and Japan, while continuing to build on their success back home with appearances at Reading and Leeds Festivals, British Summer Time where they’ll share the stage with The Cure and a sold-out show at London’s Heaven.

Night Nail return to the spotlight with their latest video “Walls Collapse”. The track itself is groovy, danceable and with a stronger beat than their previous single “Little Armenia”. The music and melody are dark but uncluttered, and the video matches that ethos. Mostly in black and white, and with a lit of footage showing in reverse, the clip uses old cinematographic tricks to attain the ambience to match the track.
