“White Lines is all about moving on and we wanted to make a video that was full of movement and serenity and beauty, but also kind of joyfully playful and weird. I enlisted two of my amazing cousins Amna & Hasnaa for it who are insanely incredible women and we found some similar outfits and all did our hair the same way and then basically danced about the studio for a day messing around on instruments and attempting to keep our faces straight.”

Midge Ure was one of the 80’s most visible pop/rock stars as the stylish lead singer of Ultravox. Born in Scotland, Midge began playing music in bands at a young age. As soon as he moved to London he soon found himself immersed in a scene he had previously only read about. He was a member of Slik, The Rich Kids, Visage, and, for a short while, Thin Lizzy, after which he joined Ultravox as the new front man.

Written by vocalist Shaanvir Rehal, ‘Reach’ is a conscious and dynamic display of lyricism that sidesteps the braggadocio of commercial hip hop to arrive at something both honest and infectious. Injecting hip hop beats with a masterly display of finicky acoustic work, Shaan’s track was the spark that got percussionist Fabien Waldheim involved in the project, and together the duo explore the bleakness and banality of pop culture with a song that’s life-affirming and touchingly relatable. ‘Reach’ explores the many contradictions in the modern condition: rampant materialism is a source of anxiety to many, but the promise of a more comfortable life through it is something we all, to some extent, strive towards. Unashamedly proud of his nerdiness, Shaan lyrically cuts something of a Gambino-esque figure, though possessed with a probing curiosity that penetrates further and lashes harder than his american peers. ‘Reach’ is a positive message. It tells us listeners that we are not alone in our thoughts, and that through expression we can find a connection with each other and the world around us that transcends our angst.

The album was recorded at Iceman Studios under the direction of Daniel Colombo, who recorded, mixed and mastered the 8-track masterpiece. The album covers details about struggles we all endure in our lifetime, some more extreme then others, but a similarity of overcoming battles, whether it be from drug abuse, self mutilation, gambling, and the likes, Letters To Part build a story about how everyday we are living in an anxiety induced world. Lead singer Y’shua Ortiz-Escobedo expands on A Human Curse, by stating it “is a story about understanding true heartache, and trying to cope.

Written and sung by the band’s guitar player Audie McGinnis, it’s a first-person telling of a simple landowner that finds dignity in a life led elemental. At the same time, the chorus warns that a way of life, once lost, cannot be artificially manufactured.
“Land”is a modern take on sentiments found in Bluegrass standards like “Little Cabin Home on the Hill” and “Blue Ridge Mountain Home.” Classic themes made new through a creative arrangement and original writing by a band that consciously uses an evolving style to connect the traditional to the contemporary.
