Singer-Songwriter Delta Jackson Reimagines Country Classic “Willin'”

“I discovered the song at a young age through Linda Ronstadt, which led me to Lowell George and Little Feat,” Delta Jackson recalled. “It would be tough to top Linda Ronstadt as far as my inspirational musical and vocals roots go, and I had it clear from before we went in the studio that I wanted to record this song, time permitting. Given the band that we put together for the recordings…the song nearly played itself. Guitarist Paul (Stacey) was in the Black Crowes & Chris Robinson Brotherhood and use to play it nightly on stage. Ethan (Johns) use to play live with Linda, and it was no stretch for him. Mikael (Jorgensen) from Wilco had also played the song on several occasions. At the end of the session for my EP, we had a couple of hours left, and the Producer Jeremy (Stacey) said…well if you want to give it a go…lets do it. So we did a run through, then one live take…. and it was done. It was an amazing feeling. It just felt like the right ending to a perfect week of recording my own music. We are releasing it as a single on iTunes, Spotify and other streaming platforms on Friday April 13th, which is also (and would be) Lowell George’s Birthday”
