In making the video, Dalton adds, “This is quite the departure from many of the previous music videos, but I wanted to just get some friends and keep it fun and simple. So all we did was gather some good friends, Carl (the dog), a phone and a camera. I sure hope it brings some joy to everyone this Christmas season.”

Nonsens’ “Wildfire” (ft. The Palliative) out on disco:wax
Nonsens makes a massive return to the scene with their new release “Wildfire,” which debuts a new sonic direction for the Danish producers on :labelmade: records and disco:wax. “Wildfire” opens with muted, silky basslines that hang subtly behind vocals from The Palliative; the track slowly builds heat up until the drop, when effervescent melodies and futuresque synths take the spotlight, complemented by the singer’s emotive high notes. Nonsens breaks new ground with this type of vocal bass-electronica, drawing upon their strengths as veritable producers of heavier music and creating a sound that is subtler and yet more sophisticated and poignant than anything they’ve ever done before. “Wildfire” has been a long time coming – Nonsens started the track as a demo nearly two years ago, but it took many revisits to perfect the sound.

Their first single “The Upper Reaches” is a haunting track that was partially recorded in their ancient church rehearsal space. VHS Collection is a rock band from New York City that has gained a reputation for high energy live performances and a unique blend of rock, electronic, and disco influences.
Miller says, “Early in the process of making this album, I thought that we either had to really nail our live approach in the recording studio, or we needed to forget about that and just work on capturing the songs in an inventive way that presents them in their best light. We decided on the latter approach, and we never looked back.” He adds, “I did more demos than usual, and really hashed out the songs at home, which gave me and Chris a really good starting point to work the songs. It was the opposite of just jumping in and playing and trying to capture it on the mics. Even though there was more collaboration with other people on this album, it’s probably the least compromised album I’ve ever made.”
Yesterday, Fatima Al Qadiri premiered the official video for “Spiral” at MoMA PS1’s Sunday Sessions in collaboration with Boiler Room and today you can watch the video in full on Boiler Room TV – link below.
The lyrics of “Spiral” feat. Bobo Secret are taken from a now legendary scene in an Egyptian comedy film called Ayazon (2006), of a joyous eruption of several individuals belly dancing in a brothel. The lyrics translate as “I’m wearing a dancing outfit and in a house of ill-repute!” The scene quickly went viral in the Arab world and became an underground queer proclamation -one of defiance, body positivity and unbridled joy. In Sophia Al-Maria’s video for the song, Zadiel Samsaz and Eli El Sultan perform a belly dance-off of femme and masc in a sensual homage to the form.

With an unstoppable flow and a preternatural sense of melody and songwriting, 20-year-old OMB Peezy is the new voice of regional rap. Posting up on his porch in cinematic black-and-white, OMB Peezy stunts in “Doin’ Bad,” his latest video. Produced by Cardo Got Wingz, “Doin’ Bad” is a melodic stomper, combining the G-funk synth of the West Coast with the organic stomp of Southern Rap, which OMB Peezy molds into a compelling narrative about loyalty and the fickleness of fame. Featuring a verse from YoungBoy Never Broke Again and a cameo appearance from E-40, the video depicts a day in the life in a dangerous neighborhood, filled with motorcycle riding, porch-drinking, and violent assault. With over 850,000 plays on Spotify, “Doin’ Bad,” which earned a nod on Zane Lowe’s Best Songs of the Week and Spotify’s coveted Most Necessary playlist is the lead single from OMB Peezy’s acclaimed debut EP Humble Beginnings.
