Elektrisk Gønner with New single “ Money”
Even before its initial inception, the spirit of Elektrisk Gønner has existed in Benjamin Løzninger’s multifaceted projects. He grew up in France with a French father playing guitar in obscure punk combos and a mother singing and playing ukulele in a punk choir. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Nick Drake, The Grateful Dead, Blondie and The Clash provided his nightly lullabies. This wide spectrum of influence shaped and made an impact on young Benjamin that would leave an imprint on all of his projects through to the current incarnation of Elektrisk Gønner.

In addition to being a time capsule for fans in the here and now, Folksinger Vol. 2 may well be an entry point to the past for some young, aspiring folkie.”

Pale Honey premiere video for new single “Get These Things Out Of My Head”
“The single manifests our way of tackling hardships and troubling times; sometimes you write a song to deal with something rough and sometimes it’s a way of explaining something hard to talk about. It went under the working name of ‘Heavy’ – a good start to tackle what would become a song centred around OCD. We love the drive in the song that makes a perfect base for the desperate shrill of Tuva’s singing and hope that someone out there will enjoy it too and find comfort or support by it.” – Pale Honey

He wanted to make a film of a couple in love, enjoying their everyday life in the city, but with one twist, they are homeless. The lyrics of the song talk about someone who has dwelled in his own sorrow for far too long, and its time for him to be happy, so I like how it connects with the story, if i could give it a title, it would be “happiness in a money-free world””

New Single By Rotoscope
At the heart of Rotoscope is Charlottesville-based musician John Athayde. The title track, “Clean Lines” started as an instrumental concept to merge electronica and rock. Piano and orchestral scoring was replaced over time with more beeps, clicks, whirs and guitar samples to give it a more industrial feel consistent with the technological disconnect behind the EP. Much of the inspiration came from the quiet iridescent streetlights as Athayde would drive around DC in the middle of the night.
The Power of Playlists for Independent Artists
To say playlists occupy an important role in today’s music industry is an understatement. For artists, getting added to a popular playlist with a substantial following is everything. It can truly skyrocket both the short-term and long-term trajectory of an artist’s career. Spotify alone is home to 2 billion individual playlists, including ones that are curated algorithmically based on listening patterns. And Spotify’s most popular playlists like Discover Weekly and New Music Friday have realistically become the modern-day equivalent of landing music on Top 40 hit radio station.
Today’s definition of “breaking” in music, is different than it was twenty, or even five years ago for that matter. To break and establish a career in today’s music industry, artists need to understand the importance of playlists, and how huge the impact can be on their careers. Getting on key playlists with lots of followers is great exposure, but that’s actually only the first step…

Single: Wasiu – “Cigarettes & Poutine”
A perpetual outsider and a gifted rhyming technician, Wasiu can transform any situation into a tasteful, speaker-knocking single. Rhapsodizing about nights in his home city of Montreal, Wasiu shares an elegant rider’s anthem with “Cigarettes & Poutine.” Showcasing his forceful and smooth delivery over gurgling synths and snapping snares, Wasiu crafts a narrative of riding the metro alone, vibing to his headphones, and smelling the city’s signature scents–cigarette smoke and french fries. Aided by the golden pipes of Basics and produced by Planet Giza, who hails from the flourishing Montreal beat scene that produced Kaytranada, “Cigarettes & Poutine” is the first single from MTLiens 2, Wasiu’s next project and the sequel to his 2015 project MTLiens. Premiered by Highsnobiety, “Cigarettes & Poutine” is a cerebral banger that only could have come out of Canada and the warped mind of Wasiu.

Crafting yet another cinematic street saga, “Juice” flashes G-Val and Lil Yase’s cool-headed lyricism as they rhyme in lockstep with the beat. PureGrainAudio premieres “Geronimo”
Far Lands is the culmination of over a decade of songwriting by Cincinnati native and Portland transplant Andy McFarlane. It represents the next logical, yet unlikely, step in a slow musical evolution that saw Andy as a high school musician and an aspiring ethnomusicologist, recording Zapotec folk music in Oaxaca, Mexico. The 2000 release of his book of poems, prose and rhymes, Intersection was immediately followed by a move westward and inward where he quietly documented the births of his daughters and the deaths of his parents. This tangible effort of turning life and loss into a sort of musical diary was ultimately isolating as he shied away from production and performance while holding down jobs as a teacher, principal and professor of education. Yet 17 years later, something has happened.

SINK IN Premiere New Video on Idobi
Alternative pop rock band SINK IN are premiering a new video for “On The Radio,” exclusively on Idobi Radio.
Frontman Tighe Eshleman tells Idobi, “This song stemmed from a discussion we had earlier this year about how much we loved the new wave of pop/EDM artists. There is a creativity in melodies that is fresh and different. When I saw DAVII’s first single, I completely fell in love with his style. All I could think about was how cool it would be to combine that creativity with the raw sounds of a rock band. I think a song like this is important because it shows that music doesn’t have to be confined to a genre box, and bands don’t have to fight against the sounds of modern pop.”
Moth Wings drop the guitars for chilled out new single “Sleepy Eyes”
Texas-based Moth Wings is an over the top rock band, ready to prove that they’re more than just loud. The Houston natives released their new single “Sleepy Eyes,” a chilled out departure from their usual abrasive sound, accompanied by a stop motion music video. The track premiered with Idobi Radio and is from the new mixtape DragonFruit, out today.
Frontman Spencer Fort says “When I went into ‘DragonFruit’ I spent a lot of time talking back and forth with myself. I remember asking myself ‘Really? We’re going to put the guitars down already?’ And though it is not a permanent move by any means, it was still weird to start up a release with little to no guitar tracks. That’s why we’re treating it as a Mixtape more than an actual album, because I want the chance to express a side of myself that isn’t masked so heavily in loud drums and distortion.”
