The event began with a piece shot in Paris during the day, which shows DJ Snake’s journey from his childhood to standing on the roof of one of the world’s most famous buildings.

DJ SNAKE – LIVE FROM PARIS

Paris is my city. My home. It’s the place where I grew up, that taught me life. I am inspired by these streets, a melting pot of so many cultures. I was asked to do this for Paris. To give back to the city that gave me so much. I wanted to present my journey, my music, my new song, in my city. These streets to feel it first. And to all of you who watched at home who have supported me on this journey. To the top of my world. Merci.

ACT OF DEFIANCE Reveal Music Video for Searing New Track “Overexposure”

Guitarist Chris Broderick says, “‘Overexposure’ is a track about not selling out and maintaining convictions about your art. I think this song has a great chorus and flows extremely well. As for the solo, I wanted it to start very melodic and build to the end where it erupts in intensity. Henry wrote all of the lyrics and most of the music to this song – it is a testament to his musicality and artistic integrity. For the video we enlisted and tortured Vince Edwards from Metal Blade Records to film it and he killed it… in a good way! The dark filtering, camera work and edits match the intensity of the song and give it life. Enjoy!”

The Perceptionists “Dirty Drumz”

Mr. Lif & Akrobatik’s (The Perceptionists) new video for “Dirty Drumz” is as raw as can be. Set in back alleys and boiler rooms, the dark, grimy tone of the song is perfectly reflected in the video. Directed by Rove Lab (Jay Brown & Gabe Bornstein), the music video balances grimy imagery with sleek photography. A standout song from Mr. Lif & Akrobatik’s long awaited reunion album, Resolution, Dirty Drumz is a back to basics approach to hiphop. In a world of autotune and color correction, the song stands out as pure talent and craft.

Shigeto shares blistering “Don’t Trip” feat. Detroit’s Silas Green

It’s been four years since Zach Saginaw, aka Shigeto, returned home to Michigan from a stint in Brooklyn, NY, and since then, the multi-faceted musician has become a part of the fabric of Detroit’s music scene. Mangione says “The song is based out of the classic question of who am I, what am I and where am I going? Roots music has a long tradition in dealing with either running toward or away from light/darkness. This song swims in the same waters. In this case the protagonist is fighting to break out and run towards the good and he knows that when he finally gets free the hounds will be howling.”

MARK HOPPUS (of Blink-182) CONTRIBUTES TO “DOG SONGS” ALBUM IN AID OF ASPCA

Mark Hoppus has contributed the track “Not Every Dog Goes To Heaven” which was inspired by the classic film, National Lampoon’s Vacation, to the charity album, Dog Songs. The project was the brainchild of Allie Goertz and Casey Boyd to raise money for ASPCA (American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) specifically to help dogs who were affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Mark explains how his involvement came about, “I became friends with Allie Goertz on twitter a while ago and she reached out about writing a song dedicated to a dog from a movie or TV show, to benefit the ASPCA via a compilation album. As a dog lover, I was honored to be asked. I wanted to write an anti-tribute to Dinky, the total bummer of a dog from Vacation, one of my favorite films of all time. Last week I went into the studio with John Feldmann and we bashed out the guitars, bass, and vocals in a morning. Travis came in that afternoon and absolutely destroyed the drums. It was all finished in a matter of 3-4 hours. In a matter of days it went from an idea in the back of my head to a song on an album out in the world. It’s a fun, energetic track that I’m proud to have included on the album, and it’s for a great cause.”
