AmpTrack Technologies Introduces HumBeatz Music-making App

AmpTrack Technologies announces the release of its free, new public beta of its app, HumBeatz. This cloud-based, music-making application allows users to simply hum, whistle or beatbox and turn those sounds and song ideas into a musical instrument for creating musical parts, loops, stems or song sketches.

HumBeatz is a 4-track loop creator with pitch and beat detection that works directly in a Chrome web browser. In Hum Mode, the user can vocalize a melody or bass line and assign it to one of more than 100 General MIDI instruments available in the included virtual keyboard. Humbeatz detects the pitch and converts it into MIDI note data that can be played back. In Beatz Mode, the user can select from eight drum kits and eight percussion kits––for a total of 192 sounds––then easily create recorded rhythm parts by beatboxing. Filmspeed Sign to Awfully Good Records & Release Single “I Feel Alright”

Detroit-born and California-based indie rock trio Filmspeed is thrilled to announce their signing to Awfully Good Records today. With the announcement, the band dropped their debut single, “I Feel Alright,” along with details for their forthcoming album, Hexadecimal, which is set for release on October 13, 2017. The 11-track collection includes elements from genres such as new wave, hard rock, grunge, and pop rock.

Cape Weather premieres debut single “Telephono”

The band is a collaboration between Natalie Smith and Eric Jackowitz. They’ve both played in bands for years; Eric playing drums for Nick Waterhouse, and Natalie releasing music under solo monikers. With Eric at the production helm, the record was made over the internet, with instruments being recorded and mixed in LA, Oakland, Nashville, New York, and Europe. Instrumental contributors to the record include Ben Alleman (keyboards; Ryan Adams), Erik Groysman (composer; Drunk History), Joe Berry (keyboards + sax; M83), with mixing and mastering done Andrew Sarlo (producer; Big Thief). The inspiration for Telephono came from Natalie and Eric wanting to create a song like “Spooky” by Dusty Springfield, but inject it with their own sensibility.

The Holy Dark has signed with Dodgeball Records, which will release the Portland, OR based gloom/folk outfit’s upcoming release “Pretty Little Bird” on October 31st of 2017.

Formed by songwriter John Miller, The Hoy Dark’s “Pretty Little Bird” was recorded in 2017 at Toadhouse Recording Studios with Adam Pike in Portland, Oregon. The album explores the mysterious and often times bewildering complexities of human emotion.
