AmpTrack Technologies Introduces HumBeatz Music-making App

AmpTrack Technologies announces the release of its free, new public beta of its app, HumBeatz. This cloud-based, music-making application allows users to simply hum, whistle or beatbox and turn those sounds and song ideas into a musical instrument for creating musical parts, loops, stems or song sketches.

HumBeatz is a 4-track loop creator with pitch and beat detection that works directly in a Chrome web browser. In Hum Mode, the user can vocalize a melody or bass line and assign it to one of more than 100 General MIDI instruments available in the included virtual keyboard. Humbeatz detects the pitch and converts it into MIDI note data that can be played back. In Beatz Mode, the user can select from eight drum kits and eight percussion kits––for a total of 192 sounds––then easily create recorded rhythm parts by beatboxing. HumBeatz automatically detects and converts the beatbox sounds to percussion instruments.


“There’s a real pop sensibility in jazz and when we recorded ‘I Enjoy You’ we pulled from that pop element to create this song,” states Chuck Harmony. Claude Kelly adds, “We wrote this in the middle of creating ‘Masterpiece Theater,’ and it was elegant, classy, jazzy, but very current,” states Claude Kelly.

The band is a collaboration between Natalie Smith and Eric Jackowitz. They’ve both played in bands for years; Eric playing drums for Nick Waterhouse, and Natalie releasing music under solo monikers. With Eric at the production helm, the record was made over the internet, with instruments being recorded and mixed in LA, Oakland, Nashville, New York, and Europe. Instrumental contributors to the record include Ben Alleman (keyboards; Ryan Adams), Erik Groysman (composer; Drunk History), Joe Berry (keyboards + sax; M83), with mixing and mastering done Andrew Sarlo (producer; Big Thief). The inspiration for Telephono came from Natalie and Eric wanting to create a song like “Spooky” by Dusty Springfield, but inject it with their own sensibility.


Madelyn Victoria’s music videos have received more than 600,000 views on her Youtube channel. The video for her breakout hit, “He Only Loves Me on the Dance Floor” reached #1 on the Y’allwire Most Watched country music video chart. Her acoustic performance video cover of her idol, George Strait’s “Amarillo By Morning” received over 240,000 views, while her cover of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” received more than 100,000 views, making Madelyn Victoria one of today’s most viewed young indie country artists.

Portland, OR Gloom/Folk Outfit The Holy Dark Sign with Dodgeball Records

The Holy Dark has signed with Dodgeball Records, which will release the Portland, OR based gloom/folk outfit’s upcoming release “Pretty Little Bird” on October 31st of 2017.

Formed by songwriter John Miller, The Hoy Dark’s “Pretty Little Bird” was recorded in 2017 at Toadhouse Recording Studios with Adam Pike in Portland, Oregon. The album explores the mysterious and often times bewildering complexities of human emotion.
