Today, Northern Irish rock band And So I Watch You From Afar (ASIWYFA) have announced their return with their new forthcoming album ‘The Endless Shimmering. Man Without Country New Song

After a two-year dormancy, Welsh native vocalist and musician Ryan James has returned with his most distinguished musical project; Man Without Country. An independent re-launch which comes with a digital, double A-sided release, aptly entitled ‘Lion Mind / Jaws of Life’.

The beat-driven ‘Lion Mind’ features the airy vocals of Finnish singer-songwriter SANSA, whose most notable work includes her collaboration with Kaskade on the track ‘A Little More’. ‘Jaws of Life’ exposes James’ introspective side, and showcases his talent for eighties-esque, synthesiser-based music production and beat manipulation, which could be compared to the work of Ulrich Schnauss, Apparat, or perhaps most recently the soundtrack to the Netflix original series Stranger Things.

Three For Silver Releases ‘The Way We Burn’

The upcoming album from Portland trio Three For Silver, The Way We Burn, plays like a dark cabaret of showstopping numbers from a twisted Disney musical that doesn’t have the good sense to actually exist. The album is due out September 1 on Foggy Night Records.

“When I was in high school, I had this great teacher, Evan Bueckert, who had created a recording class,” says the young man from Cranbrook, British Columbia. “In this course we learned a lot about music and musical composition. By the end of the course, each student was required to write and record a set of original songs. At that point, I was hooked.”

Rebecca Schiffman’s track “Laura”

Rebecca Schiffman is a singer-songwriter and artist based in Highland Park, Los Angeles. Her eponymous third LP, produced by Money Mark and featuring Nels Cline, came out this year on Fayettenam Records (2016 digital, 2017 vinyl). A born-and-bred New Yorker, Schiffman has been described as a “long-lost Royal Tenenbaums character” (Vice Magazine) and has been profiled for her music, art, jewelry, and writing by The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Nylon, among other publications. Schiffman studied cello and piano from a young age, eventually picking up guitar and playing guitar and cello in an indie pop band in high school called The Meaningful and Wise.

Emmit Fenn releases Eclipse EP

SonReal – One Long Dream Tour

On August 11, Canada native SonReal delivered his debut album, One Long Dream, a project that was more than three years in the making. Marc Cohn Co-Writes Three Tracks on New Album From Blind Boys of Alabama ‘Almost Home’

The song-writing skills of GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn can be heard on the three opening tracks of legendary gospel group Blind Boys of Alabama’s newly released album Almost Home. Cohn, alongside co-writer, guitarist, and producer John Leventhal, penned “Stay on the Gospel Side,” which they co-wrote with surviving founder Clarence Fountain, “Let My Mother Live” which includes writing contributions from surviving founder Jimmy Carter, and “God Knows Everything.”

Steven Mackey and Jason Treuting announce album “Orpheus Unsung”

Composer-guitarist Steven Mackey and composer-percussionist Jason Treuting announce that their first collaborative album, Orpheus Unsung, will be released October 6 on New Amsterdam Records. Stream track “The Wedding” here via Bandcamp.

Orpheus Unsung is an hour-long narrative for solo electric guitar (Mackey) and drums (Treuting) that traces the Greek myth of Orpheus in the underworld, casting Mackey’s electric guitar as the disembodied voice of the legendary musician, poet, and prophet Orpheus. Ancient Ocean shares space themed “Life at the Surface”

Just in time for the solar eclipse, J.R. Bohannon (aka Ancient Ocean) shared the second track from his first release in two years, Titan’s Island, inspired by Saturn’s moon of Titan and the concepts of discovery and exploration. Self-Titled magazine premiered the 11 minute epic “Life at the Surface”, which they called, “a moody piece that sounds like an orchestra slowly fading to black alongside a blizzard.”

LOGIC, KHALID, GUCCI MANE, POST MALONE AND JULIA MICHAELS SET TO PERFORM AT 2017 VMAs

MTV today announced that Logic, Khalid, Gucci Mane, Post Malone, and Julia Michaels have been added to the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards stellar performers lineup. They join the previously announced artists which includes Kendrick Lamar, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Lorde, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Fifth Harmony and the “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” winner, P!nk.

Logic will perform his hit single “1-800-273-8255” featuring Khalid, and Gucci Mane will take the stage with previously announced Fifth Harmony to perform their song “Down.” Additionally, the show will feature special performances by breakout artists Post Malone and Julia Michaels.

The 2017 “VMAs” will air live from the “Fabulous” Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday, August 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
