Video of Caleborate – “Consequences”

Blessed with plainspoken wit and the emotional maturity of a man twice his age, 23-year-old Caleborate is one of Hip-Hop’s most promising young voices. Released last week, Caleborate’s critically acclaimed 1993 is a nostalgic record with sample-based, old school Kanye West-style beats, and more electronic, beat-driven tracks. “Consequences” is the latter, as metronomic clicks, rolling snares, Kaytranada-esque synths, and pounding bass build to a slow-burning groove as Caleborate lays out his goals and demolishes his haters: “As far as y’all n*ggas I don’t see no one that’s posing a threat/cause I just wanna chill, smoke, drink and be cool.”

It takes nearly an hour to safely evacuate a site—including consumers, staff, vendors, and artists–so they can get to safety before a major storm hits.
