New York trio, Invisible Familiars, led by songwriter Jared Samuel, released their debut 7″ single, “Clever Devil”, in June on the Other Music Recording Co. – purchase here. Stereogum called the A-side, “T. Rex in a funhouse of horrors,” advising you to, “let it cast a spell on you.” Today the band has offered a stream of the B-side, “Digger’s Invitation”, via Soundcloud, in conjunction with announcing upcoming New York City dates: October 3 at Glasslands with People Get Ready and Dave Harrington (of Darkside) and October 23 at Union Pool. The latter is Invisible Familiars’ first announced CMJ performance, part of the Other Music Recording Co.’s CMJ Showcase. The band will preview their debut full-length album, due out on Other Music this winter, alongside labelmates Xylouris White, 75 Dollar Bill and Tall Tales & the Silver Lining.
