JUAN WATERS VIDEO “GOO”
At the start of this year Juan Wauters released his solo debut album N.A.P. North American Poetry and has been on the road touring ever since. Though busy touring, with the help of long-time collaborator Matt Volz, he did find some time to create a video for “Goo”, a cut from N.A.P. Shot in his home borough of Queens, “Goo” is an ode to all the great Hip Hop videos from “Make it or Break it,” a series distributed on VHS that invited fans to call in and rank their entries by voting “Make it” or “Break it”. This is the kind of quirky and charmingly oddball video we’ve come to expect from this charismatic musician.

NEW MEXICO UNVEILS ‘NEW MEXICO TRUE BREAKFAST BURRITO BYWAY’
Road trips in New Mexico are about to get even tastier. The state is putting its chile-laden breakfast burritos on the map with today’s unveiling of the New Mexico True Breakfast Burrito Byway.
The flavorful itinerary is a fitting celebration of a humble but satisfying dish thought to have originated in New Mexico in the early ’70s. (Different tellings of the story trace it back to food stands at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and to Tia Sophia’s restaurant in Santa Fe.) Spanning every corner of the state, the Byway guides visitors to the top 50 spots for breakfast burritos, as determined by a popular statewide vote.
The launch of the Breakfast Burrito Byway, an initiative conceived by the New Mexico Tourism Department, wraps up a heated competition for bragging rights among 400 restaurants that were self-nominated or nominated by customers. During the ensuing public voting period (April 21 through May 18), enthusiasts were fierce in their support, collectively casting 46,766 votes to whittle the field to the final 50.

WIRE: NEW SINGLE BY BAD LUCK
“There’s a gruffness to Cold Bones, the upcoming album by Florida’s Bad Luck,” says Jason Heller of The AV Club. “But like the Social Distortion song that the young punk band oh-so-possibly might have taken its name from, that grit shields a melancholic center—although it’s worn down to the nerve on the album’s title track, which is being debuted here. Simmering and downright balladic in a Gaslight Anthem sort of way, the hooks seep out slowly and bittersweetly as the song builds into a triumphant bummer of an anthem”

NEW VIDEO BY HENRI
“It’s Like This, It’s Like That” is the perfect song to soundtrack your summer. “With its airy disco vibe, the track reminds me of dancing on the beach at sunset or hazy picnics in the park,” says Henri. “I love hooks like the ‘Ooh, ooh, oh, oh’ in Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass’ and the catchy synth part in Todd Terje’s ‘Inspector Norse.’ ‘It’s Like This…’ is full of them, from its driving bass line to the popcorn synth, to the repetitive ‘ooh-wee-ooh’ and ‘It’s Like This, It’s Like That’ vocal. It feels like there’s a divide between club music and pop and I wanted to include elements from both.”

EDMX TEAMS UP WITH EARPEACE
1 in every 5 teens in the US has some sort of hearing loss and the problem is only worsening as concerts get bigger and louder. EDMX has aken their festival based app to the next level by pairing with molded earplug maker EarPeace proving that they are more than just an app for festival particpation. In celebration of their partnership, EarPeace and EDMX are giving away 10 free sets of Ear Peace earplugs to one lucky winner. All you have to do is create a profile with EDMX and you will be entered to win the contest.
For EDMX, This move towards ear health was largely inspired by the founder, Scott Richmond’s struggle with the impact of damaged hearing – tinnitus (ear ringing) and hyperacusis (sensitivity to sound). “For myself, one night I walked out of a club, my ears were ringing, and they never stopped from that day forward,” says Scott, regarding the unpredictability of the onset of these type of ear conditions. “I don’t want anyone to have to go through that. Therefore, it’s an important part of EDMX’s mission to be a platform to educate the EDM fan about taking care of their ears. Teaming up with Ear Peace is a natural extension of that.”

Island Boy is the ongoing project of San Diego-based, Puerto Rican musician and producer Richard Hunter-Rivera. Incorporating elements of French house, reggaeton, latin freestyle, and new wave with crooning vocals, his music pays clear homage to pop and the art of modern songwriting. In late 2012, Island Boy released an EP that features a heavy-dose of sampling, live signal manipulation, and unorthodox recording processes. The resultant production style, dense, cinematic, and surreal, carries over into Hunter-Rivera’s first full-length effort, Basic Instincts.

WIRE: NEW SINGLE BY STARSET
Starset is a rock band from Columbus, Ohio formed by Dustin Bates (he was formerly the lead singer with the group Downplay that was signed to Epic). A singer, songwriter and accomplished musician, Bates also boasts some serious scientific credentials. A PhD candidate in electrical engineering from Ohio University, he has done research for the U.S. Air Force and taught at the International Space University. In 2013 Dustin formed Starset after being contacted by an organization called The Starset Society and its President, Dr. Aston Wise. Bates was asked if he was interested in forming a band to promote the organization’s message. At its core, the message is a warning that involves a scientific discovery that is currently being controlled and manipulated by an elite few.

WIRE: “THE WRITING’S ON THE WALL” CAN BE VIEWED EXCLUSIVELY ON ROLLINGSTONE.COM TODAY
OK Go is back with its first official video in two years – “The Writing’s On The Wall.” It premieres online today exclusively at RollingStone.com and can be viewed HERE.
“The Writing’s On The Wall” is the first single from the band’s new album, Hungry Ghosts, which will be released on October 14 by Paracadute via BMG. While the song, which was heard in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, concerns a relationship that may be at its end, the dizzying video, packed with optical illusions that blur the line between reality and imagination, affirms that OK Go is still very much in love with the video-making process. (Their passion for making videos and other cool stuff is what led the White House to ask the band to craft a clip announcing the date of its very first Make Faire, which takes place tomorrow, June 18).
“Filmed in the grainy style of a ’90s home movie, the clip shows the quartet skating down Eighth Avenue, getting kicked out of a Chinese place, and finally drinking tallboys by a sun-washed Hudson River. Though lead singer Jordan Topf sneers, “Living in the city, I get so bored,” with Julian Casablancas-like aplomb in the track’s bridge, the adolescent energy and colorful nostalgia of these visuals are anything but blasé. – SPIN
