AMERICAN FOOTBALL ANNOUNCE REUNION SHOWS
This fall the influential late ’90s indie rock trio American Football – Mike Kinsella (Cap’n Jazz, Owen, Owls), Steve Lamos, and Steve Holmes – will reunite for their first live shows since disbanding 15 years ago. The band will play September 28th at The Pygmalion Festival in Champaign/Urbana, IL, the site of the band’s formation and home of Polyvinyl Records, the storied indie label who released their original EP and self-titled full-length album. Veteran photographer Kevin Estrada’s Rockers Against Trafficking benefit to help raise awareness of human trafficking this past April 11th at Paladino’s in Tarzana, CA (sponsored by Monster Energy) was an amazing success. Billboard, dick clark productions and Chevrolet announced today that Carrie Underwood, Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic are the top three finalists for the Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV and broadcast LIVE on ABC at 8pm ET. Fan voting for the three finalists will continue online with the winner being announced during this year’s broadcast.
This is the second year that this editorial award will go to an innovative artist who achieved a notable chart milestone in the past year. COUNTRY ON THE RIVER NAMES OPERATION TROOP AID AS ‘OFFICIAL’ CHARITY OF THE FESTIVALS
Country On The River, a multi-day music festival taking place in Iowa on June 20 — 21 and Wisconsin on August 7 — 9, has named Operation Troop Aid as the official charity.
The Iowa festival will feature performances by Gary Allan, Bret Michaels, Montgomery Gentry, Gretchen Wilson, Thompson Square, Tracy Lawrence, Lonestar and Joe Diffie.
