Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Callaghan has just confirmed several tour dates opening for Matthew Sweet in June in Philadephia, Washington DC, and New York City (see full tour schedule below). Upcoming touring is also planned with Steve Forbert (May 19th in Fall River, MA) and Shawn Mullins (July 7th in Durham, NC). Callaghan is also planning her own headline shows, including a special Memorial Day Weekend two-Show CD release celebration in her recently-adopted hometown of Atlanta: she’s performing on May 25th at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, GA (acoustic show) and May 26th at the Red Clay Theater in Duluth, GA (full band show).
The UK-born, US-based performer is hitting the road in support of her soon-to-be-released album, Life In Full Colour, which comes out on May 1, 2012. The record was tracked in and around Atlanta with Grammy-nominated Shawn Mullins both producing and playing on the album. Life In Full Colour’s 12 songs present the singer’s eclectic and dynamic style, combining shades of folk, country, rock and pop into a seamless fusion of feeling and melody. The first single from the album, “Best Year,” is already receiving airplay at KMTN (Jackson Hole, WY), WFIV (Knoxville), KTAOS (Taos, NM), WBJB (New Jersey), WCLZ (Portland, ME), WCBE (Columbus, OH), and KROK (Louisiana), as well as the nationally-syndicated show Acoustic Cafe.
