Today, Arkells are announcing their fall North American tour dates supporting alternative rock band KONGOS. The band will join back up with Frank Turner for a handful of East Coast tour dates before Turner takes over the supporting roll for Arkells’ two SOLD OUT headlining shows at Massey Hall in Toronto.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced last week that global megastar and 8 X Grammy Award winner Usher will be honored with the 2,588th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. PDT. The star in the category of Recording will be dedicated at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Eastown.

The video for the upbeat love song was directed by Stokes Nielson and shot in Las Vegas, Nev. and locally in Tennessee, features Hoge taking a ride down memory lane with the help of a Shelby Cobra. All the moments of his relationship leading up to him meeting his girlfriend dressed in a tuxedo, driving the classic Shelby Cobra. Phish bassist Mike Gordon will return to the road this fall, hitting the midwest and east coast of the U.S. with his band. The tour kicks off in St. Louis before continuing east. Stops include Chicago, Burlington, Albany, Philly, DC and the band’s return to Nashville for the first time since 2011. The outing ends with the band’s first multi-night run, a special intimate three-nighter at The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA.

Mike’s band includes longtime collaborators Scott Murawski and Craig Myers, as well as two recent additions: organ and synth-master Robert Walter (The Greyboy Allstars) and sharp-shooter John Kimock on drums.

The video stars both Alex Aiono and Feder, and takes place in a dimly lit house. As the story unfolds with hypnotic dancers, it heightens the cinematic feel of the track and coincides with Aiono’s chilling vocals.

Symbion Project streams textured ‘Arcadian’ album via Big Shot Mag

Arcadian is the 8th full-length album from Seattle-based electronic-music songwriter/producer Symbion Project aka Kasson Crooker. On Thursday, September 8th, First Lady Michelle Obama and legendary hip-hop figure and recent Epic Records artist Q-Tip will honor the fifth annual class of the National Student Poets Program. Q-Tip will be serving in his role as The Kennedy Center’s Artistic Director for Hip-Hop Culture. The pair will welcome five student poets to the White House for a special celebration and poetry reading.

Q-Tip is known around the world as the co-founder and moving force behind luminary rap trio A Tribe Called Quest, who transcended racial and genre boundaries to solidify hip-hop’s place in American culture and become one of music’s most enduring acts. Boston/New York City-based hardcore outfit COUNTDOWN has ended their run as a band in recent days while on tour. Luckily, Flatspot Records has just re-released the band’s demo on vinyl, immortalizing the tunes in a proper format.
