Samuel Proffitt releases the latest track “You,” a reprise featuring multi-instrumentalist Crywolf, from his forthcoming new EP Good Death which comes out on June 7th via Nettwerk, who he recently signed with. “You” is a slow burning, orchestral track that builds into a pounding depiction of mental strain. Proffitt, who is in the 3rd year of his PhD at Brown University, has crafted “You,” along with the rest of Good Death, as an artistic case study exploring memory, death, trauma, and fragmentation of self. The songs were written over a period of 4 years, and each piece can be viewed as a vignette, a moment that he felt compelled to capture, distill, and crystalize.
