George Wythe Wayne is a singer songwriter, performer and producer; he produced Guitar Slim, Jr.’s ‘Nothing Nice’, The Fox and the Hunter’s ‘I’m Dancing Backwards’ among others.
In America was written originally when a local radio station in Richmond, VA issued a challenge to write a song about America. GWW had previously written a song about Richmond which had gotten airplay on the station.
After 911 the song was re-written to be more inclusive (lines like ‘way back in the year 1942, my daddy shipped out for WWII -met himself a girl while across the sea , brought her back home and they had me’- was changed to ‘they took hope and guts and glory on across the sea, and brought it back home and we’re still free’ ) . Unhappy with the original recording GWW recently re-recorded the song.

Rooster Teeth’s ‘Blood Fest’ hits theaters for a thrilling night on 8/14
Rooster Teeth’s “Blood Fest” will terrify audiences with a special one-night event on Tuesday, August 14 at 7:30 p.m. local time. Written and directed by Owen Egerton (“Follow,” author of the novel “The Book of Harold, the Illegitimate Son of God”), the movie stars Robbie Kay, Seychelle Gabriel, Jacob Batalon, and Rooster Teeth’s own Barbara Dunkelman, with Tate Donovan and featuring a cameo by Zachary Levi.
Described by Nightmare on Film Street as “an already wild party where someone has spiked the punch,” and with Dread Central noting it “could become the party horror film of the year,” Blood Fest follows fans who flock to a festival celebrating the most iconic horror movies, only to discover that the charismatic showman (Egerton) behind the event has a diabolical agenda. As festival attendees start dying off, three teenagers (Kay, Gabriel, Batalon), more schooled in horror-film clichés than practical knowledge about neutralizing psycho killers, must band together and battle through various madmen and monstrosities to survive.
Titus Releases ‘404 Not Found’ EP Today
Titus released his 404 Not Found EP today. On 404 Not Found, Titus sings and raps over ominous soundscapes, reflecting the dark place he found himself in when making the project. He sunk deeper into that dark place when his hard drive crashed and he lost nearly every recording session over the past year. After salvaging the most important tracks from cloud storage, 404 Not Found came to life. The EP features production by long-time collaborator Myles Williams (Beyonce, Lil Wayne, French Montana, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross), as well as Mister Neek (Wale, Fabolous, Mac Miller, GoldLink,) BKorn, Ricky Remedy and more.

Tragically, Cash Askew passed away in the Ghost Ship fire in Oakland in December of 2016, sending a shockwave of loss through our community. While Kennedy Ashlyn would eventually emerge as a solo artist through her project SRSQ, there were unfinished Them Are Us Too recordings and demos that Kennedy and those close to Cash felt deserved be heard in her memory.
Kennedy returned to the studio with producer Joshua Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv), Sunny Haire (Cash’s stepfather), Matia Somovich (INHALT), and Anya Dross (Cash’s girlfriend) to complete unfinished demos and sketches, write new compositions, and honor Cash Askew.

Lauren Housley was born and raised in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Although she was a shy child, she always possessed a strong desire to perform on stage. By the age of 10, she was a National Dance Champion and began moving into theatre acting shortly afterward. Her passion to sing and write songs came unexpectedly at around the age of 14, Her influences spanning the broad spectrum of guitar music, stemming from her Elvis fanatic dad who raised her on the sounds of the king. Spending a lot of her formative years between Rotherham, after moving to Manchester, Lauren developed a cultured appreciation of the Northern music scene, drawing inspiration from the thriving music culture in which she was cocooned. She has since teamed up with childhood friend, Steve Pycroft, where they began hosting a night at Matt and Phreds Jazz Club in the Northern Quarter called Soul Sessions.
Elias Black – “Fire” Track Premiere
Elias Black is a five-piece post-grunge rock band from Phoenix, Arizona. Fronted by none other than Elias himself, the group explores toxic relationships, codependence and inability to escape in their upcoming debut album Reclamation. With inspirations ranging from Queens of the Stone Age to Nick Cave to Nine Inch Nails, Elias Black explore a depth of sonic delivery with heavy, droning guitars that softly fade from track to track creating an emotional, driving experience.
“All of the music that you hear (and across the entire record) was tracked live, straight to tape. There was no click track, no pitch correction, etc. We played the song (all together) and Steve Albini recorded it.”
AVOID Releases New Single, “Thoughts of You”
Today Seattle-based heavy rock outfit, AVOID, has released a fifth and final single, “Thoughts of You,” from their upcoming album, Alone. The track, accompanied by a stream video, is being featured on the Spaceuntravel YouTube channel. When discussing the single, vocalist Benny Scholl stated, “Thoughts of You is probably my favorite song we’ve released yet. The song is about watching someone fall apart and not being able to do anything to help. We wanted to capture that feeling in the lyrics, with the music still being a feel good song. Joshua Hedley “My Opry Debut” episode premieres at Rolling Stone Country
