All-star group featuring Noah Gunderson, Matthew Logan Vasquez and others release new song; announce tour
Glorietta was born out of Delta Spirit main man Matthew Logan Vasquez’s desire to collaborate with some of his closest musical friends, among them Noah Gundersen, Kelsey Wilson, David Ramirez, Jason Robert Blum, and GRAMMY® Award-winner Adrian Quesada. The band officially came together last year over the course of a nine-day recording session in a rented house in Glorieta, NM, just outside of Santa Fe. With Vasquez as the hub, all involved were connected in one way or another, some old friends, others meeting for the very first time. For nine long days, tape ran constantly as the new family of collaborators developed a wide-ranging passel of creative ideas and songs into a unique and singular vision. The players were joined midway through the sessions by the one and only Nathaniel Rateliff, who drove straight through the night to join the party (and lend vocals to the LP’s “I Know”). The result of their labor is GLORIETTA, an extraordinary melding of six one-of-a-kind voices that add up to a distinctive and truly special debut album.

Working with Hans Zimmer on the song was truly a dream realized. He is a musical genius and even more importantly a powerful, humble and gentle man. Liz Cooper & The Stampede’s “Hey Man” video debuts at NPR Music/WXPN’s World Café
Directed by Anna Zorn, a graduate of both the writing and improvisation programs at Chicago’s Second City, the video stars 11-year old Madysen Reilly. Of her performance, NPR Music/WXPN World Café praises, “The daughter, marvelously played by 11-year-old Madysen Reilly in her first on-screen role, pops a cassette of ‘Hey Man’ into her cassette player and proceeds to rock out and live out her rock and roll fantasy. Playing air guitar, lip-syncing into her hairbrush microphone and jumping around her room, the downstairs perfection comes completely unhinged as mom and her friends succumb to the music and the energy coming from the floor above. Someone’s bra comes off, cakes are smashed, donuts are stuffed into mouths, and everyone proceeds to get wild. It’s the ultimate twist to a rock and roll tale.”
