LIL DURK RELEASES NEW VIDEO “TOO LATE”

DARLING JAMES ‘GOD’S GRAFFITI’ VIDEO
With an incredibly formative year already nothing more than a memory, Melbourne’s emerging frontrunner of intelligent pop Darling James is hitting the brand new year running. So far, so good – upon announcing a very special hometown launch party at the Gasometer Hotel, he is also proud to offer a debut music video for God’s Graffiti.
The one-man band fronted by ex-Boat People frontman James O’Brien, has just released his debut EP Theory Of Mind – a six-track affair lauded by many with three singles released and supported nationally by triple j and Double J. The uncanny sophistication in which his songwriting unravels has pricked the ears of both sides of the spectrum, proof that he can achieve the impossible and tickle the fancy of both sides of the cerebrum.
The video for God’s Graffiti was initially an entirely different concept brainstormed with local director Luke Constable, but ended with a camera placed atop an unmanned car rolling down a slight incline. Admittedly, the pair spent more time leaping into the car to prevent it rolling onto bike paths and train tracks.
The Pop Group donate all proceeds to Doctors Without Borders from new single, “War Inc.”
“War Inc.” sees The Pop Group formidably mobilized by the heavyweight maximalism of Public Enemy architect Hank Shocklee. Befitting the song’s theme of warfare and the avarice of those who stand to profit from it, the track coalesces around a punishing crossfire of industrial brunt and volatile noise, as driven, explosive and audacious as anything The Pop Group or Shocklee have put their name to. With Mark Stewart’s vociferous loudspeaker tirades and Gareth Sager’s acutely distressed guitar distortions punctuated by a recurrent vocal cut-up that alludes to iconic ragga and 90s Bristolian jungle, the track maintains the band’s capacity for adventurous admixtures of influence, whilst delivering a much-needed message of savage, perceptive fury.
THE OMINOUS CIRCLE Issues “As The Worm Descends” At Metal Injection
Portugal’s mysterious tyrants THE OMINOUS CIRCLE have issued a new torrent of blackened death from their impending Appalling Ascension debut album, as the record nears co-release through 20 Buck Spin and Osmose Productions.
The newly unveiled “As The Worm Descends” comes writhing into the public through an exclusive premiere at Metal Injection. Issues the respected portal of the tune, “Darkness slowly descends over the opening moments as instruments grow into the mix. Harsh bellows emerge roughly ninety seconds in, spitting venom over bombing snares, kicks, and crashes. Curling riffs roar and dance, eventually engulfing the finale of the track in a fiery blaze. THE OMINOUS CIRCLE heeds wisdom from the likes of Incantation and disEMBOWELMENT in crafting songs like ‘As The Worm Descends’ and much of what else appears on Appalling Ascension.”

ASHLEY RILEY TO RELEASE NEW EP IN MARCH
Earthy grit. Rootsy and soft. A distinct voice. At its core, Ashley Riley’s music is best described as sophisticated indie/Americana. There’s a dreamy quality to the songs, yet lyrically they capture the essence of the more honest moments of our days: those seemingly ordinary moments that suddenly take your breath away or make you weak in the knees, those moments that prove to us that oftentimes the most extraordinary moments are found in our everyday lives. Riley’s 7-song EP, Can’t Let You Go, due out March 3, 2017, takes this sentiment to heart – there is something there that we will all relate to.

The Knocks – ‘Trouble’ feat. Absofacto
“We originally wrote “Trouble” with Abso in NYC at our studio as a slow, piano ballad, at 90 bpm. The idea was to write something that felt melancholy and classic. After we laid down the original idea, he left and we started experimenting with it – treating it like a sample – totally chopping it up and flipping it. This is the same way we approach some of our earlier songs like “Dancing With The DJ” and “Make it Better” so it was cool to go back to that formula while making a sound that was new and fresh.” – The Knocks

Eric Bellinger Shares New Video
A hugely talented singer with the respect and admiration of the music industry, Eric Bellinger earns his living as an ace songwriter, creating compositions that stand on their own. Released in September 2016, Eric B. For President: Term 1, was a potent fusion of Hip-Hop and R&B, packed with sensual bedroom jams and trap bangers. On EBFP: An Acoustic Experience, Eric Bellinger strips down those songs to their bare essence, with only voice and acoustic guitar, to reveal the well-crafted melodies and clever lyrics beneath the production bells and whistles of the first project. Though slower songs from the project, such as the grown-and-sexy “Remind Her” and the woozy ballad “Drive By,” lend themselves naturally to acoustic treatment, what is even more impressive is Eric’s ability to transform some of the harder tracks, such as “My Check” and “Snappin’ and Trappin’,” into lilting, sexy slow jams. EBFP is a tremendous vocal showcase for Eric, spotlighting his flawless tenor and intricate self-harmonies.
