As we head towards the end of the year, James Yorkston and The Second Hand Orchestra unveil a new video for “Ella Mary Leather”, taken from their forthcoming album The Wide, Wide River due January 22, 2021.
While “Ella Mary Leather” is titled after a Herefordshire based folk song collector in the early 20th Century, James Yorkston and The Second Hand Orchestra’s song is not about her. Yorkston explains: “No, it’s not about Ella Mary Leather. I am just using her lyrical name as a mask, to protect the innocent…” Over a wealth of percussion, violin, and nyckelharpa, Yorkston plays buoyant piano as he sings us a story about a friend from many years ago.

Japanese female rap duo FEMM announce mellow new track ‘Tic Toc’
Fresh off the release of their new hyper-pop EP ‘404 Not Found’ last month, Japanese female rap duo FEMM have announced yet another new song, ‘Tic Toc’, slated for release on December 25.
The new track was teased on FEMM’s Twitter and Instagram accounts, with a short clip of the music video available now on YouTube. Further details for the track’s full release will be made clear on its release date – a perfect gift for Christmas Day.
The melody was created by R&B singer Vedo, whose song ‘You Got It’ has been used in over 8.5 million videos on TikTok, generating innumerable total views and gaining Gold Award certification from the RIAA on December 10.
