With a natural melodic ability and a fast-paced flow, DC The Don prides himself on standing out from the pack. Dressing up as one of film’s most famous outsiders, DC The Don gets his Napoleon Dynamite on in “Worst Day ):,” his new video. Produced by Astroboy and Theo Zim, “Worst Day ):” is a product of DC’s exquisite ear for beats, as he molds his flow around 8-bit piano arpeggios and soulful vocal samples that could easily fit in an 80s arcade game. Directed by OUTLAW of Guapruns Productions, the video is a loving tribute to the 2004 cult classic, sketching an outline of the film’s plot with DC portraying Napoleon and successfully capturing the original’s color scheme and aesthetic. The video provides a twist on some of the film’s most memorable moments, including football tosses with Uncle Rico, Pedro’s presidential campaign, and the closing talent show dance performance. “Worst Day ):” is a new song from Come As You Are (Deluxe), the recently-released expanded edition of DC’s debut album.

KEIKO, ex member of Japanese vocal group Kalafina, releases debut solo album ‘Lantana’ on December 2

Kalafina made their debut in January 2008 with ‘Oblivious’, the ending theme to the feature-length anime ‘The Garden of Sinners’, followed by songs for TV anime such as ‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica’ and ‘Fate/Zero’, as well as for the educational history show ‘Rekishi Hiwa Historia’ produced by Japan’s national broadcaster NHK. The group were produced by Yuki Kajiura, resulting in a rich sound with expressive choral vocals, an artistic tapestry sewn into every song. The group not only found great success in Japan, but globally as well: Kalafina performed their first overseas concert in Boston in 2009, followed by shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Jakarta, Thailand and more, as well as headline shows in Taipei, Shanghai and Hong Kong. The group disbanded in March 2019.

METZ shares a new video for “Framed by the Comet’s Tail,“

METZ has shared a new video for their song “Framed by the Comet’s Tail”, directed by the band’s drummer, Hayden Menzies. The visual companion to a personal favorite track of Menzies’ from Atlas Vending was created within a set of self-imposed limitations; it was all shot by Menzies on his phone, edited at home, with no borrowed content. He says of the video “It’s not a literal interpretation of the song by any means, but a document of random firing synapses of the mind during isolation.” Watch the video now.
