With its title a metaphorical reference to setting boundaries, “Gucci Frames” looks back on the people we’ve all left behind, the friends whose toxicity dragged us down, the hangers-on who always want to be there for our highs but never feel like staying for our lows. Asiahn says, “Like, no, you weren’t a great friend to me before, so I don’t want you to be a great friend to me now. This is me saying: ‘I’m so sorry, I can’t see you with my Gucci frames on!’”

Then the Japanese funksters of Osaka Monaurail stepped in and recorded some trumpets and strings, and so the whole thing really got this heartwarming global solidarity feel all over it… So here it is: A cross-continental soul tune – in production and subject matter – about the strange times we live in and the basic human need that everyone on this planet feels these days. The Struts release new track ‘Another Hit Of Showmanship’
Sparked from a Britpop-leaning riff dreamed up by Struts guitarist Adam Slack, ‘Another Hit of Showmanship’ features a particularly poignant vocal performance from singer Luke Spiller, who perfectly captures the tension between giving in to temptation and rising above. After laying down the initial version of the track, Spiller reached out to Hammond, who’d previously invited the band to open for him on a series of solo shows in 2018.
