On “Gyrophare” KACIMI comes up with an intimatecollection of brand-new pop songs. An assemblage of poetic vignettes where love is always the question. Recorded on tape at Back To Mono studios in Lyon with Christian Hierro and a crew of Genevan musicians, this record is a soft and melancholic sonic web woven on the velvet-like fabric of delicate and minimalist arrangements.
After multiplying group experiences for about fifteen years through numerous records and live performances (Le Roi Angus, The Rebels of Tijuana…) KACIMI released his first solo effort, “Cookies and Motoriders”, in 2015. A dive into sixties French singing pop, altogether cinematic and yéyé, which gathered critical acclaim (Rock & Folk, playlists RTS, Couleur3, Option Musique, FIP, France Inter, Ferarock, Campus…).
The author of several tracks used in TV series and commercials KACIMI is also the founder of Le Pop Club Records, a music label which is now rich of more than forty references and recently specialized in French films soundtrack vinyl reissues like “Coup de tête” or “Les Tontons Flingueurs.”
