Silversun Pickups Share Their Music Video For “Sticks & Stones”

Today, Silversun Pickups share their new Jade Curley directed music video for “Sticks and Stones.” Brian Aubert of the band shared about the song/video, “There’s something that we want to happen. Jade’s video for my favorite song on the album is the perfect example of it: a collaboration where our songs are the catalyst for someone else to create art that is personal to them. The collision of two personal things (our song from us, visuals from Jade) makes something new that couldn’t have been created from an individual. For me, I get to step out of our world and live in the song where I feel like a spectator. Also, I think I want to start surfing now. Congrats, Jade.” Watch the music video for “Sticks & Stones” here and read about the video via Surfer.

Rising French superstar Aime Simone is back with the release of ‘New World’ OUT NOW

Deep basslines layered with sparse guitar flecks lay a minimal foundation for a signature vocal performance from Aime, proclaiming the fight for a better world in this alternative pop anthem. With a stunningly creative animated visual that sees Aime morphing into visions of a future human-machine hybrid, the mesmersing A.I world of trippy landscapes and textures points to a singular creative mind at work.

sadeyes Expresses Heartache In New Single “toothfairy”

Today, 23-year-old Portland native sadeyes releases his new single, “toothfairy” from the upcoming EP ‘patient death’ out on May 12th. Leaning into maximalist production, the track builds on a foundation of glistening synths and effervescent textures interrupted by syncopated bass drops. Delivering signature vocals brimming with painful honesty, sadeyes puts his emotional lyricism on display for a cathartic listening experience.

On the track, No ID’s throwback production tempers a simmering beat with bluesy guitar and lush strings. Meanwhile, Saba fires off one quotable rhyme after another as he reminds, “I’m from Chicago. We invented mobsters,” before issuing a warning, “I filet a voyeur like I’m Oscar De La Hoya.” Building towards a chantable refrain, “Young Sebastian back in office,” the track evokes Windy City soul elevated by undeniable wordplay. Directed by Ian Lipton, the single is accompanied by a cinematic stripped-down music video with a focus on Saba as he delivers his consistently hard-hitting bars — watch HERE.

Psych-folk artist Mariee Siou shares title track & video from forthcoming EP, ‘Circle of Signs’

Written over the course of a few years, and half in the wake of the historic Sonoma fire in 2017, the title track out today reflects on the ongoing climate disaster–from floods to droughts to fires–that continuously plague many parts of the world including Siou’s home state of California. In an interview with Brooklyn Vegan, Siou says, “This song is a prayer that begs us to heed these warnings from the earth body and reflect on indigenous prophecies from different nations around the world, which speak of the time of The Great Shift.” Siou ponders humanity’s fast-paced current path, filled with consumption, capitalism and technology, that only further ravages the planet. She continues,”A time when we will be given two paths to walk as human beings, where we must choose whether we continue on the path of acceleration, disconnection and technology, or take the other path back into the right relationship with the earth once again.” Delving into the rich lyrical content, Siou says, “The lyrics ask if we will ever humble ourselves and learn from our mistakes as a species, whose human superiority complex is causing change and destruction to our planetary home at a pace that is beyond comprehension.”
