Their music not only inhabits some of the flair of that French coastal resort – their sound also plays with its myth. SANDRO P creates acoustic dreamlike images of the French Rivera with songs that revalue sensuality as an aesthetic category in music and celebrate a musical declaration of love to the erotic film music of the 70s and 80s. A coherent repertoire that includes reinterpretations of Francis Lai’s cult melodies from „Emmanuelle” and „Billitis” or pieces by Ennio Moriccone as well as their own compositions inspired by the genre.

In their compositions the musicians use their chosen materials freely and know how to give the spirit of a bygone and lost era a contemporary touch and a new timbre with. If nostalgia appears here, then it is reflected and sprinkled with irony and humor. The band doesn’t shy away from opulence; the audience gets a full bouquet of styles, rhythms and diverse grooves that also affect hips and legs via the ear. The lineups of their performances move like strollers on a beach promenade at evening rush hour: a prelude by Bach walks relaxed next to a reggae offbeat, a raucous Moriccone melody lively debates with guitar riffs à la Mogwai. Creating moments of such ease and pleasure is the art that SANDRO P cultivate in their music and pass on with passion to their audience.
The versatile soundscape of this musically high-quality debut feeds on musical impartiality and takes you on a journey through the simplicity of being as well as on a roller coaster within the human quest for joie de vivre and connectedness.
The album will be officially out on October 21st and can be ordered on CD
