Vic Mensa drops new four song ‘Vino Valentino’ EP
Chicago rapper, actor, and activist Vic Mensa has shared a surprise four song EP for Valentine’s Day. Though perhaps best known for his incisive political insights and adept mic skills, Vino Valentino demonstrates the breadth of his musical range via a collection of outright love songs that lean as much on his skills as a singer and songwriter as his gift for delivering rapidfire bars. The EP also acts as a showcase for his ever-growing talents as a producer, with Vic providing the beats for standout tracks “D’ussé Tears (feat. Dixson & Malik Yusef)” and “Can I Call U Baby (feat. Peter CottonTale)” (in collaboration with Peter CottonTale, and Stefan Ponce, the latter of whom also provided the production for “Alone Wit U” and “Cancer (Interlude)”).
THICK Share New Track “Love You Forever” Out Now
Today, Brooklyn DIY punk band THICK share their new song “Love You Forever.” The track is the first song released by the band since their critically acclaimed debut album 5 Years Behind (2020). Referring to the track as their “first honest love song,” the band originally wrote the song as a gift for a friend’s wedding this past year. “It’s about unconditional love and getting through the hard times — knowing that love transcends all of life’s chapters,” adds THICK. “The song is meant to encapsulate the idea of loving your partners, your friends, and most of all loving yourself.“
