BYE BYE TSUNAMI: New Noise Magazine Streams Eponymous Debut From Copenhagen-Based Experimental Metal; EP To See Release Friday Through Nefarious Industries
BYE BYE TSUNAMI’s experi-metal/post-mental sounds hail from planet 無, by way of Denmark. The group is formed by three sick individuals who thrive in uncertainty and find delight in the entropy of noise, employing disrupted rhythms, unique/self-built futuristic wind instruments, and heartbreaking cyborg screams to expand the musical language beyond its wildest horizons. Scavenging the distressing remnants of a future no one wished for, the band is redefining the new era of post-real. The members first met in pre-pandemic Copenhagen after being respectively active in the noise/experimental/jazz/metal scenes of Berlin and Amsterdam in addition to their home city. Willing to realize their life dream of forming a dysfunctional boy band, in 2020 they finally give birth to BYE BYE TSUNAMI: monsters giving birth to other monsters.

Blake Rose Reveals Video For ‘Sweet Calendonia’. To Support Ashe on North American Tour
‘Sweet Caledonia” and ‘Casanova’ both feature on Blake Rose’s debut EP, ‘A World Gone By,’ released last fall via AWAL Recordings. Speaking about the EP, Blake revealed, “My debut EP ‘A World Gone By’ is a coming-of-age project for me. It touches on my experiences so far with childhood, love, trauma and growing up in the age of social media. I put my heart and soul into it, and I hope you enjoy!”
TOM MCKAY has released a lyric video for his song “The Benighted One” which features Lindsay Schoolcraft. The song is from his upcoming album Call To The Dæmon Sultan which will be released on February 18th.
“The Benighted One deals with isolation. Specifically distancing yourself from those around you, eventually finding yourself all alone with nobody to hear your screams. Given the subject matter, bringing on another voice could seem counter intuitive (how can you be alone if it’s not just you, amirite?), but at the same time Lindsay’s beautiful ethereal voice adds a bit of calm to those desolate thoughts, a smooth and gorgeous texture I didn’t even plan on when I asked her to sing on the song. Needless to say, the song turned out better than I could’ve ever dreamed of, and I was so happy to have her and her amazing talent bring so much to the song, more than can even be heard at a first listen.”
New Music: Mamak Khadem Releases New Single & Video “Entangled”
On “Entangled,” Mamak is accompanied by Chris Votek on cello, whose moving composition sets the tone for the accompanying video, wherein director Javadi visually juxtaposes the image of an innocent young girl (and the clarion call of Mamak’s powerful voice — alarmed, heartfelt, starkly aware) against the threatening coldness of a male-dominated society that seems not only figuratively but quite literally hellbent on moving backward. The darkly surreal, allegorical vision seems multifold in its social implications, from the horrific sale of young girls for marriage to the systematic oppression of women around the world. Metaphorically, it speaks on a broad scale to the retrograde movement of whole societies into fundamentalism, reactionism, and brutal zealotry — to times wherein women and girls have little or no voice at all.
