BLOOD COMMAND RELEASE NEW VIDEO FOR “THE END IS HER”
The video comes ahead of Blood Command’s debut performance with their new frontwoman, at Oslo’s Vulkan Arena on 16th December. The show will be a triumphant end to a difficult two years for the band, who’ve spent the time entirely separated by the gulf of distance and pandemic.
Lil Gotit Takes Out The Trash in “Walk Down,” Prepares For Project in 2022
After feeding the streets with Top Chef Gotit, Atlanta’s one and only “real hood baby” must have left the stove running. Continuing to cook up heat and icing any opp that can’t handle it along the way, Lil Gotit returns to share “Walk Down,” his new single and music video. Featuring a guest verse from rising rapper CEO Trayle, as well as spots from Gotit’s associates Biggz and Lil Double 0, the track sees Gotit in his musical element, flashing an unfazed flow over a frantic, menacing trap instrumental. His laid-back bars, juxtaposed with the urgent, booming beat on the track gives a sense that the threat of imminent danger is looming, but not for Gotit. Directed by ShotByWolf, the video finds Lil Gotit and company trading verse after verse, sending warning shots toward anyone bold enough to try them.
Engine Kid (Southern Lord) Releases New Music
Some fans may recognize the song “Special Olympics” which, like others on this release, are re-workings of old material which were never recorded. The music represents the sonic direction that the band were heading before they disbanded. With this EP, Engine Kid commemorate the joy of playing music together for the first time in 26 years, and pick up where they left off. As Jade Devitt comments, “The musical commitment and connection that we forged in the 90’s has held like a magnet, finally pulling us together after 26 years! The newly recorded songs were dusted off blueprints from our very last practice tapes from the summer of ’95. Now enhanced with experience & age and new arrangements. The Kid flies again.”
Rising star, Country music songwriter and performing artist, Taylon Hope, has released the Classic Christmas tune, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” just in time for the holidays. The song was penned by songwriters Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, recorded at Soundstage Studios Nashville by Joel McKenney, produced by Kent Wells and mixed by Kevin Willis. Studio musicians on the project included Kent Wells on acoustic and electric guitar and adding background vocals, Mike Rojas played piano, Gary Lunn added bass, Steve Brewster on drums and Jerry McPherson played electric guitar. “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” is available for download and streaming on all digital music platforms here.
Mi’kmaq rapper Gearl releases new album, From The Ground Up
A former member of the award-winning trio City Natives and the nation-spanning collective K.U.$.H., Gearl arrives with a sophomore solo album that serves as a glimpse into his personal experiences of being Indigenous in the Maritimes while also transmitting a wider appreciation and knowledge of the Mi’kmaq language and culture.
“With this new album you can learn a few Mi’kmaq words just by listening to the songs,” he says. “I took my style of intense energy and moved it towards more of a healing energy. I wanted to make music that makes people amped up to stand up for themselves.”
